Pharmaceutical Technologists at Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa

Summary of the Role:

• Receive and process orders delivered to the Pharmacy Department in accordance with procedures and documentation requirements.
• Counsel patients on drug administration for optimum customer satisfaction.
• Check expiry dates of all incoming stock and document short-dated stock.
• Dispense drugs accurately and in a timely manner to uphold quality standards of the department.
• Ensure the accuracy of the labels referencing respective prescription before dispensing for the right patient, right drug and right quantity, for effective patient care.

Essential and Desirable Criteria:​​​​​​​

• Diploma in Pharmacy.
• Enrolled with Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
• Professional Annual Practice License.
• Member of Kenya Pharmaceutical Association.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in an inpatient/outpatient setting.
• Knowledge of the hospital management information system (CARE 2000) is an added advantage.
• Demonstrate behavior consistent with the values of the hospital.
• Familiarity with locally available drugs and their indications.
