Job summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall mobilization, implementation, coordination and reporting of a project on girls’ empowerment.
Responsibilities and duties
- Support in mapping, screening and enrollment of beneficiaries to the project.
- Conduct home visits to beneficiaries.
- Work closely with stakeholders such as Kisumu County Education officials, school heads and principals of technical colleges.
- Lead transitioning of girls to schools or wage/self-employment.
- Assist in development and dissemination of life skills content.
- Work with the data staff and the head of programs to analyze girls’ learning, offering advice as needed.
- Writing and submitting periodic project narrative reports.
- Adhere to all NIGEE policies including policies on child protection, safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality, procurement and financial management.
- Any other duties as may be assigned to assist the organisation meet its objectives.
Qualifications and experience
- Education: Diploma in Project Management, Social Work, Community Development or related field, from a recognized institution. Bachelor’s degree in related field added advantage.
- Experience: At least three years’ experience coordinating projects on girls’ education or empowerment. Experience working with NGO or CSO highly advantageous.
- Competencies: Proficiency in computer applications, good analytical and decision-making skills, good leadership skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, good organisational skills, pleasant, collegial in conduct, able to write reports, ability to multi-task and willing to work long hours to meet deadlines without additional financial compensation
Terms of employment: One-year contract subject to successful probation in the first three months.

Position: Volunteer Behavioral Counsellor
Reports to: Head of programs.
Job summary
This is an interesting opportunity for a counselor to practice her/his training in an exciting environment. The successful candidate will offer phone-based counselling and referral services as well as in-person follow ups of SGBV cases.
Responsibilities and duties
- Offer phone-based counselling services to violence survivors.
- Triage cases and support referrals.
- Maintain logs of both incoming and outgoing calls.
- Follow up cases to the different protection agencies.
- Train caregivers on radio.
- Writing and submitting periodic reports to the head of programs.
- Adhere to all NIGEE policies including policies on child protection, safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality, procurement and financial management.
- Any other duties as may be assigned to assist the organisation meet its objective.
Qualifications and experience
- Education: Form 4 Grade C- and above; Certificate in Psychological Counselling from a recognised institution. Prior training on GBV an added advantage.
- Experience: At least one years’ experience in handling SGBV cases, prior experience working with adolescent girls and young women preferred.
- Competencies: Fluency in English, Dholuo and Swahili; good communication and interpersonal skills, good organisational skills, pleasant, collegial in conduct, confidential, able to write reports, ability to multi-task and willing to work long hours to meet deadlines without additional financial compensation
- Terms of employment: Voluntary position; engaged in 3 monthly cycles.

Job summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a database for the project, entering data, validating the data, analyzing the data and communicating resulting information to NIGEE and the project’s donor.
Responsibilities and duties
- Designing an appropriate database and entering data.
- Analysing data from a dash board, relaying the scores and other agreed upon parameters to the project coordinator and head of programs.
- Troubleshooting an online platform and liaising with the supplier to support where needed.
- Conducting routine data validation and data quality audits.
- Writing and submitting periodic reports to the project coordinator.
- Adhere to all NIGEE policies including policies on child protection, safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality, procurement and financial management.
- Any other duties as may be assigned to assist the organisation meet its objective.
Qualifications and experience
- Education: Diploma in Computer Science, Statistics or related field from a recognised institution. Bachelor’s degree and/or professional certification course added advantage.
- Experience: At least two years’ experience as a data clerk or above in a busy project. IT skills in software, hardware and networks management required.
- Competencies: A well routed individual in data analysis, good decision-making skills, good leadership skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, good organisational skills, pleasant, collegial in conduct, able to write reports, ability to multi-task and willing to work long hours to meet deadlines without additional financial compensation
