    QSSK-MO-SMO-Sales and Marketing Officer

    Job summary:

    The onset responsibility of this role is to increase sales by onboarding new clientele in the EU, Middle East, China, and other ear marked markets for fresh, processed avocados and passion fruits. The position requires an individual with utmost dedication, knowledge and experience in sales and marketing of fruits and vegetables in the international/export markets.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Acquire new clients and achieve the sales targets for our client’s organic and conventional avocados, mangos and passion fruits in the EU and Asian markets in line with the company’s growth.
    • Establish clients and generate sales for the planned frozen fruits in the EU, Southeast Asia and locally.
    • Responsible for ensuring high touch customer service, delivery, and experience.
    • Design strategies and undertake marketing and promotion of its products in the targeted markets.
    • Abilities to periodically undertake products competitive landscape study and coming up with strategic plans to maintain company’s market position and growth.
    • Ensure the company has a robust social media platform and are actively maintained.
    • Product brand development and management.
    • Periodically carry out market research, surveys, and development within the company’s product diversification plans.
    • Effectively work with production and logistics departments in order ensure timely and seamlessly delivery of orders.
    • Ensure all the time the business meets requisite market and regulatory requirements.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A marketing degree or a related business degree from a reputable university is requisite
    • A minimum of three (3) years demonstrable hands-on experience in export commodities sales and marketing in a busy environment.
    • A good working knowledge of dealing with importers and retailers in the fresh fruit and vegetables markets in the EU will be an added advantage
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Evidence and ability to use MS office is a prerequisite
    • Knowledge working with marketing tools and software
    • Fast learner with good analytical skills

    • Good interpersonal skills and abilities to work in a work deliverable demanding environment

    QSSK-QSS-EHSE-Environmental Health and Safety Executive

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    1. Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health ACT (OSHA).
    2. Develop for implementation, policies and programs to proactively promote safe working environment that complies with regulatory agencies and client safety standards.
    3. Monitor and ensure all employees, contractors and visitors comply with safety guidelines at the client site.
    4. Oversee safety operations on site and prepare periodical reports.
    5. Ensure continuous improvement of Health and Safety standards in terms of the work environment for employees and contractors.
    6. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and other requirements including annual workplace registration and annual health and safety audits.
    7. Coordination of investigation of all accidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences, property damage or loss, first aid cases and medical treatment cases reported in all company facilities and the identification of corrective and/ or preventative action to prevent a recurrence.
    8. Advise clients on safety compliance concerns and preventative measures.
    9. Performs safety surveys, inspections, audits and prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been put in place.
    10. Conduct daily toolbox meetings for staff on site.
    11. Spearhead Health and safety committee meetings and submit a report to management.
    12. Arrange for safety inductions and medical examinations for new staff in all responsible sites.
    13. Request for required PPEs for staff on-site and ensure PPE use compliance

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 3 years of working experience in the Occupational Health and Safety in a manufacturing industry preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related studies.
    • Relevant certification/ accreditation in Occupational Safety and Health and NEBOSH.
    • Thorough knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, The Work Injuries Benefits Act, and subsidiary legislations.
    • Exhibit the ability to think practically and creatively to implement the best safety training in occupational safety requirements and OSHA guidelines.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Crisis management skills and high attention to detail
    • Effective communication, interpersonal, and team player skills.
    • Ability to maintain professional status and keep abreast of evolving trends in Safety through continuous professional development.

    QSSK-QSS-HRM-Human Resource Manager

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop review and implement policies, procedures and practices that support attainment of company goals and objectives.
    • Ensure staff recruitment for regular and term contracts.
    • Develop and ensure proper induction of all new staff as per the Company’s standards.
    • Review and optimise employee’s job description on a regular basis.
    • Develop and maintain an effective Human Resources Information System.
    • Facilitate and participate in annual and periodic staff performance appraisals at all levels of Company employees and review their Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) from time to time to ensure optimisation of their performance.
    • Prepare HR Departmental budget proposal and implementation of the budget approved by the Board of Directors of the company.
    • Prepare annual staff remuneration budget and retention programs proposal in line with company strategy.
    • Ensure PPEs are available to all employees of the company and are maintained in good condition.
    • Prepare and implement annual staff training program
    • Prepare and process payroll for regular and term contracted employees including computation of statutory deductions.
    • Plan, manage, control and process authorised annual leaves, or absence in respect of maternity, sick leaves.
    • Develop and administer the company medical scheme in accordance with the company regulations.
    • Monitor the staff discipline and implement in liaison with the other departments, all the corrective action process necessary, develop the company disciplinary committee to address disciplinary issues.
    • Stimulate sound industrial relations and speedy resolution of individual and collective grievances.
    • Manage the workman compensation scheme with company lawyers and insurance company as well as work accidents within the requirement of the laws of Kenya and their Insurance Company.
    • Develop systems to minimise risk of accident within the organisation and organise regular training for firefighting, first aid among others.
    • Ensure company compliance with all statutory licenses and registrations.
    • Supervise and coordinate staff welfare functions.
    • Prepare and facilitate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with national standards that the company subscribes to.
    • Optimise the cost for stationary purchase of the department and the use of copy machine of the company.
    • Ensure adequate filing of all documents and files and manage department dead archives to protect the interest of the company.
    • Coordinate and ensure proper utilisation of company vehicles including preventive maintenance, service, and repairs.
    • Maintain a high profile of health, safety and environment program and coordinate first aid, fire, and safety trainings accordingly.
    • Control and minimize communication costs of the company including telephone among others.
    • Ensure P9, and all other statutory deductions reports are processed in time and properly.
    • Prepare within the set deadlines the necessary information, reports and statistics to HBU/CEO. (Weekly report, monthly report, Board Meeting report)
    • Carry out any other duties at the request of the HBU / CEO as may be assigned from time to time

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business-related course.
    2. 8+ years of HR experience with 3 years in Management level.
    3. Full member of IHRM required
    4. HR practicing certificate
    5. Excellent strategic & people management skills
    6. International Relations experience required
    7. Knowledge of employment laws required
    8. Employee Relations experience required
    9. Strong written & verbal communication skills required
