    Relationship Manager, Barakah Banking (Corporate)

    Job Purpose:

    • The job holder is responsible for ensuring quality business growth from existing and new customers with focus on both the asset and liability book in line with agreed targets.
    • Ensuring the retention/maintenance of customers and growing the existing book through the deeper penetration into the existing customer’s business/ personal banking requirement and effective management of the relationship/customer experience.
    • The focus to be to facilitate on shariah compliant product, namely Barakah banking book. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Handle Customer queries and obtain review information from customers.
    • Analise submitted Credit Applications and providing recommendation.
    • Initiate security perfection in liaison with Legal Department.
    • Disbursement of facilities and Collection of processing fees/commissions.
    • Monitoring of Covenants and sanction terms.
    • Review and signing bank documents i.e., Letters of offer, Bank Guarantees, Non-Disclosure Agreements, CMA discharges.
    • Cross-selling bank products.
    • Provide timely feedback in relation to customer request or inquiries.
    • Liaise with other departments i.e., Credit, Legal, IB, ICT to solve customer issues.
    • Adhere to bank strategy and budget requirements as per bank policy.
    • New business canvassing and obtaining the necessary approvals.
    • Monitor and follow up of account performance.
    • Regular clients visit to review the business performance and submit call reports.
    • Referral of cross border business to I&M- Group, IMIA, Burbidge Capital, Wealth Management.

    Academic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science or related field.
    • Knowledge on Islamic Banking and finance.

    Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies/ Publication: 

    • Relevant professional qualification.
    • Member of a relevant professional body.

    Work Experience Required:

    • Over Seven (7) years’ relevant experience with over Three (3) years in management in a similar organization.

    Competencies:

    • Strong leadership skills.
    • Executive disposition.
    • Demonstrate high levels of integrity.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Manager, Corporate Credit

    Job Purpose:

    • The role is responsible for managing the credit exposure of clients within the Corporate and institutional Banking segments. Responsibilities include credit analysis, and active monitoring of the portfolio to identify and mitigate credit risks.
    • The role holder will work in conjunction with other functions within the Bank in arriving at informed decisions through an understanding of the credit, structure and profitability features of each relationship.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyze credit proposals for risk identification, measurement, mitigation and submit with recommendations to the relevant credit committees for decision making.
    • Ensure that all credit proposals adhere to the Bank’s laid down guidelines and policies as well as meet the CBK prudential guidelines.
    • Appropriate structuring of facilities based on the use and risk profile of the Borrower.
    • Active portfolio management ensuring early identification of warning signs and remediating the same ensuring minimization of potential losses in the event of default, periodical financial review and covenants setting and monitoring, conducting site visits and engagements with Business.
    • Review inward clearing exception report requests, Temporary Overdrafts and Excess over Limits and escalate for sanction as provided for within Delegated Authority.
    • Act as bridge between credit and other departments within the Bank in developing products that are suitable for the Bank and ensuring that they are within the current policy and if not, seeking waiver of the same from the relevant authorities.
    • Ensure that there is coordination on credit related matters between all units of the bank.
    • Regular market research on the performance, new products, TAT, best practices etc from the competition.
    • Review/write up of existing and new policies and procedures for the newly introduced products and ensure compliance for existing ones.
    • Bank wide training on Bank’s products and overall credit analysis.
    • Risk analysis of any new entrants for service provision for the bank and any investments that the bank would want to invest in as and when called upon to do so.
    • Liaising with the corporate credit analysts to ensure quality proposals are provided to enable Management make quality decisions.
    • Ensure that service levels agreements and Turnaround times are strictly adhered to.
    • Participate in Credit portfolio management to reduce Gross NPL to total advances.
    • Timely preparation of papers for CRMC, BCC and GCMC meetings and any other reports that may be required.

    Academic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a business or related field. 
    • Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies/ Publication: 
    • Relevant professional qualification.
    • Member of a relevant professional body.

    Work Experience Required:

    • At least Four (6) years relevant experience in a similar organization.

    Competencies:

    • Strong leadership skills.
    • Demonstrate high levels of integrity.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Thorough understanding of the Banking Sector.
    • Thorough understanding of Bank Products.
    • Ability to create and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
