    Senior Dealer - Institutional Markets Sales

    Job Summary

    To implement the Institutional clients /NBFI Markets sales strategy according to the Director Market Sales and the Absa Market Sales Strategy and Policies & Procedures, and in line with Group Values.

    Key Accountabilities

    Markets Sales Dealing

    • Under the guidance of the Director, Market Sales actively participating in the implementation of the institutional Markets Sales Strategy in line with the Absa Market Sales Strategy and Country sales requirements.
    • Acting as the primary point of contact for Institutional/NBFI Markets sector (Asset managers, Financiers, remittance companies, DFIs, Pension funds, Insurance companies, Hedge funds and Stockbrokers) while ensuring regular face-to-face engagement with the respective teams to promote teamwork.

    The role also entails offering financial markets solutions to commercial banking institutions.

    • Manage one’s client portfolio, to include:
    • Daily contact with clients who have completed the Terms of Business (TOB)
    • Regular face-to-face interaction with clients in one’s portfolio
    • Regular contact with principal Relationship Manager and other internal key stakeholders
    • Offering yield enhancement and risk management solutions to institutional clients
    • Managing one’s allocated client portfolio and support the team in the management of the other client portfolios where needed
    • Under the direction of the Director Market sales achieving a leading position in the chosen products, markets and segments by:
      • Spending at least 50% of one’s time meeting with existing and identified new clients.
      • Drive Money Market Sales revenue – Vanilla (Eurobonds) and Structured MM (CLDs, loan distribution, structured deposits etc).
    • FX origination – both flow and structured for the related sector.
    • Giving superior customer service
    • Presenting the full Absa product set to clients whilst managing the product portfolio to suit client needs
    • Expanding the customer base to financial institutions and investors as is appropriate
    • Undertaking customer visits and joint customer visits with the NBFI coverage team.
    • Actively participating in client events with Absa Capital Economics unit and Corporate, including training and seminars, and Entertaining clients as permitted under the bank and group compliance policies
    • Managing one’s client portfolio to generate strong growth and sustainable returns over the business cycle with special focus on Customer Service and Financial Performance
    • Ensure that Counterparty credit limits are not exceeded.
    • Assisting the Director Market sales in achieving strategic and tactical objectives.

    Reporting

    • Providing weekly reporting on client growth, volume and profitability in one’s own portfolio
    • Providing detailed Management Information to the Director, Market sales on the composition, performance and profitability of the client portfolios monthly
    • Assisting the Director Market sales with any ad-hoc reporting requests

    Personal Development

    • Actively managing one’s own technical and soft skills development in conjunction with the Director, Market sales.
    • Researching, identifying and proposing training solutions for own development to the Director, Market sales.

    Financial Performance & Risk Management

    • Revenue growth through building of a structured FX flow business and product diversification.

    Customer Obsession

    • Giving superior customer service
    • Expanding the customer base as is appropriate.
    • Undertaking customer visits (and joint customer visits with the coverage teams)
    • Show case risk management and yield enhancement solutions to clients.
    • Actively participating in client events, including trainings and seminars, and Entertaining clients as permitted under the bank and group compliance policies.
    • Conversion of dormant clients to active clients

    Digital Transformation

    • Ensure clients are onboarded on/ and utilize Markets Sales digital platforms. 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related course
    • ACI Dealing certificate

    Experience

    • Experience in foreign exchange dealing and managing of institutional/NBFI clients portfolio. Also, financial markets risk management solutions and yield enhancement products

    Job Description

    Accountability: SALES TO ECOSYETEM CUSOTMERS     TIME SPLIT  60%

    • Deliver exceptional sales performance by identifying and meeting customer needs through selling & cross selling of all Absa Bank Retail products and services to ecosystem customers.
    • Provide direct “hands on” sales support (quality lead generation and effective follow-up) to generate and convert quality leads into sales.
    • Participate in specific product campaigns by ensuring that the products are explained to customers.
    • Agree, meet and exceed targets for specific sales campaigns.
    • Maintain own sales performance statistics for management information usage.
    • Own and manage personal products & channel sales targets to contribute towards the direct sales objectives and targets.
    • Refer to the appropriate area of delivery for specialist product help or advise (e.g. Schemes or Mortgage) when uncertain about the product delivery or application process.
    • Respond directly to the customer.
    • Complete account opening documentation together with customers and submit to Line Manager for review before submitting to operations for processing.
    • When selling loans to ecosystem customers, complete the financial analysis and statement review on customer accounts.  Where customers do not meet the minimum criteria, advise the customer verbally or in writing as the customer requires.  Report such denials to the Line Manager on a daily basis.
    • Call customers when their accounts have been opened and provide the customer with contact information for the branch at which their account is held.

    Accountability: CUSTOMER SERVICE   TIME SPLIT 15 %

    • Own customer queries and complaints around account opening, loans and card applications and resolve in a timely manner.  Escalate any unresolved queries, or queries not resolved in a short period of time to the Line Manager.
    • Build relationships with internal service providers (Operations and the KYC Helpdesk) to ensure a quick turnaround time of escalated queries and complaints.
    • Advise customers as soon as new loans are approved and encourage drawdowns on the new loans
    • Open scheme loan accounts referred by the Scheme Loans Relationship Managers

    Accountability: OPERATIONAL RIGOUR, COMPLIANCE AND CONTROLS    TIME SPLIT 15 %

    • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Absa Policies and Policy Standards. Understand and manage risks and risk events (incidents) relevant to the role.”
    • Ensure accuracy of each new account application, loan document, Barclaycard application and all other customer documents. Lead Generators (LGs) are held personally accountable for accuracy and quality of these and supporting documents that they complete and submit.
    • Achieve operational rigour excellence in all aspects of procedures and processes personally undertaken to ensure green audit.
    • Follow the Retail end to end account opening ensuring new accounts are authorized and KYC compliant. Escalate any items that exceed the agreed service level timelines or where there are unresolved KYC requirements, to the Line Manager.
    • Comply with general Absa operational risk & rigour requirements e.g. Health & Safety standards and security of premises, KYC and anti-money laundering regulations.

    Accountability: CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TEAM/PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT    TIME SPLIT 10%

    • Share knowledge and experience with other Lead Generators in the team.
    • Provide cover for other Lead Generators in case of excessive workload or absence.
    • Deputize for the Line Manager whenever required.
    • Agree annual performance objectives with the Sales Manager, including specific sales targets.
    • Pursue continued improvement in personal development by participating in development programs and training.

    Senior Solution Analyst (KE)

    Job Summary

    Work as part of a DevOps team, leverage specialist analysis & testing tools, frameworks, techniques and practices to elicit, define and organize business requirements. Translate & document business requirements into user stories & specifications (Full Stack, Cross System) detailing integration points, business & associated risk / opportunities to be realised. And following this analysis, work collaboratively within squads during design & delivery activity including assuming responsibility for manual application testing processes, frameworks & outcomes

    Job Description

    Analysis (including Business Case)

    • Proactively build relationships, apply analytical techniques to elicit and validate business (product & service) needs ahead of demand
    • Implement routines to get to know / become an expert in various business processes (e.g. spend time in business & with users)
    • Translate elicited needs and knowledge acquired into user story format that is immediately usable for DevOps teams (right languaging, format for building & testing)
    • Prepare and prioritise the backlog of requirements for the user stories linked to the proposed solutions
    • Work collaboratively with Tribe Leads (Technical Product / Service Owners) to build a roadmap & vision for the products and services (including detailed analysis requirements & solution scope)
    • Define measures of success & key outcomes for various solutions / changes including detailed acceptance criteria for all features
    • Define testing requirements (pass or fail test cases)
    • Support the development of detailed business cases (including defining solution characteristics, effort estimations etc.)

    Solution Design (within DevOps Context)

    • Translate business requirements into detailed systems requirements. Detailed system requirements must include all capabilities, interfaces and functionalities within and across technologies.
    • Build detailed user stories to be leveraged for system requirements design (modular)
    • Leverage business analysis & modeling tools and apply notation standards such as UML/BPMN to diagrammatically/visually document: business requirements, business processes, system processes & integration .
    • Facilitate processes to ensure integrated requirements are socialized, understood & approved across the broad range of stakeholders to be impacted (this includes various processes e.g. risk / governance forums, change council, scrum meetings / DevOps team capability building, solution design sessions etc.)
    • Understand & leverage knowledge on the organisations technical landscape, environment and broader architecture to define integration points across tech stacks for various requirements
    • Work collaboratively with project / program teams, squads, scrum masters and engineers to define backlog, release & DevOps / project planning implications of the requirements development & roadmap (what should happen when)
    • Continuously improve system requirements mapping (e.g. leverage input from questions asked etc. to consistently improve the quality of the requirements analysis for easier interpretation by the development teams)
    • Work as part of the embedded DevOps team throughout the design process to review solution design (features and functionality)

    Solution Delivery & Testing (manual)

    • Define the manual testing strategy & test cases for various solutions (where it makes sense to do so)
    • Define & validate quality & testing parameters (+/-) & plans for the solution (socialize & translate these to automation testing teams)
    • Develop manual testing frameworks and patterns for the solution
    • Lead the manual testing process for various solutions (e.g. execute test cases, analyse results)
    • Provide real time feedback to the DevOps teams on change requirements identified throughout the testing process
    • Review & monitor system stability, resilience etc. throughout the testing process (e.g. integration) & in production
    • Define & monitor overall backlog planning for effective solution delivery
    • Provide Developer & User support during user acceptance testing

    People

    • Provide coaching & mentoring across the DevOps team as well as to developing analysts across the estate
    • Conduct peer reviews & problem solving within and across the broader team

    Experience

    • Proven experience in Business Analysis and System Analysis, with a deep understanding of data flows, requirements gathering, and process analysis.
    • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and platform optimization.
    • Experience with solution design and proposal development, ensuring solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business needs.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams, ensuring solutions meet both technical specifications and business goals.
