Role Summary

• The Solutions Engineer is the technical lead in the PowerGen pre-sales and bid process, turning customer requirements, consultant specifications and tender documents into technically compliant, commercially competitive power solutions for the company. The role carries a dual mandate:
• Solutions engineering (all segments): own the technical side of PowerGen bids – sizing, system design, compliance, costing inputs and proposal development – from enquiry through to handover to Projects.
• Mission-critical Special project sales focus: act as the company’s lead for mission-critical project opportunities (Data Centres, Healthcare, Industrial, Commercial, Education etc) – identifying, developing, qualifying and winning projects with developers, colocation operators, EPC/MEP contractors and consultants, and building the company’s position as the preferred critical-power partner in the region.

Solutions Engineering & Bid Management (Technical Lead)

• Technical Ownership: Lead the technical response for PowerGen bids, ensuring all submissions meet customer requirements and industry standards.
• System Design & Sizing: Perform detailed load analysis, generator sizing, and system architecture design (including switchgear, control systems, and fuel systems) to meet specific project needs.
• Compliance & Specifications: Review consultant specifications and tender documents to ensure proposed solutions are fully compliant or to develop and document acceptable deviations.
• Costing Inputs: Provide accurate technical Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering inputs to the sales team to facilitate competitive commercial pricing.
• Proposal Development: Draft technical proposals, scope of work documents, and supporting engineering documentation.
• Handover: Ensure a smooth technical transition from the sales phase to the Projects/Execution team upon contract award.

Mission-Critical Project Sales & Business Development

• Market Focus: Target high-value sectors including Data Centres, Healthcare facilities, Industrial manufacturing, Commercial real estate, and Education campuses.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Identify, develop, and qualify relationships with key decision-makers, including developers, colocation operators, EPC/MEP contractors, and engineering consultants.
• Opportunity Qualification: Lead the technical qualification of opportunities to ensure alignment with the company’s capabilities and strategic goals.
• Winning Projects: Develop winning strategies for mission-critical projects, emphasizing reliability, redundancy (N+1, 2N), and total cost of ownership.
• Brand Positioning: Build and maintain the company’s reputation as the preferred critical-power partner in the region through technical expertise and consultative selling.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with the Sales Manager and Account Managers to drive revenue growth.
• Interface with the Projects/Execution team to ensure design intent is carried through to installation and commissioning.
• Provide technical support to the supply chain and logistics teams regarding long-lead items and specialized equipment.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.

Experience:

• Proven experience in a Solutions Engineer, Application Engineer, or Technical Sales role within the Power Generation industry.
• Strong experience with Mission-Critical power applications (Data Centres, Hospitals, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Experience interpreting consultant specifications and tender documents.
• Familiarity with generator sizing software and electrical design principles.

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of Diesel and Gas Generator sets, control systems, and power distribution.
• Knowledge of industry standards (ISO, IEC, NFPA, etc.) related to power generation and mission-critical infrastructure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar electrical design tools is an advantage.

Revenue Generation & Business Development

• Drive Service Sales Growth: Own and execute the end-to-end sales lifecycle for high-value ServiceNow services, including platform implementations, ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CSM, and custom digital workflow solutions.
• Enterprise Deal Closing: Lead discovery, solution shaping, value alignment, and contract negotiations to close complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise B2B service deals.
• Pipeline Management: Build, qualify, and manage a healthy pipeline of enterprise opportunities across new-logo acquisitions and account expansions.

Strategic Account & Go-To-Market Management

• Territory & Account Planning: Formulate and implement target account mapping strategies across the German corporate market.
• C-Suite Engagement: Establish, cultivate, and maintain long-term executive relationships with Chief Information Officers (CIOs), Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), and IT Directors.
• Partner Co-Selling: Collaborate with ServiceNow field teams, alliance partners, and internal solution architects to execute joint go-to-market initiatives.

Sales Operations & Forecasting

• Sales Forecasting: Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene, accurate quarterly/annual revenue forecasting, and clear deal progression metrics.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate with presales consultants, delivery leaders, legal, and operational teams to structure competitive service proposals and statements of work (SOW).

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of proven, verifiable track record in enterprise IT service sales, with specific, hands-on experience selling ServiceNow platform solutions and managed services.
• Language Proficiency: C2 German level is mandatory (Native/Fluent level written and spoken capability for C-level negotiation, contract execution, and technical discussions in Germany). Professional working proficiency in English is required.
• Sales Track Record: Demonstrated history of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue quotas in high-value B2B IT environments.
• Ecosystem Expertise: Solid understanding of ServiceNow products (IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, Customer Service Management, HR Service Delivery) and digital transformation paradigms.
• Remote Work Capability: Proven ability to operate autonomously in a 100% remote working setup while managing client engagements in Germany.
