    Strategic Information(SI) Lead – Data Analyst

     Job Summary:

    The SI Lead-Data Analyst will design and coordinate data analytic techniques to support project performance monitoring, data processing and validating the integrity of data. S/he will be responsible for the design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation and reporting (MER) systems that document, report and enable timely use of results, as well as strengthen and use relevant national and county reporting systems. S/he will be providing data analytic expertise and offer technical support to both project teams and MoH teams

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee data analytic techniques to support tracking of project performance, data processing and validating the integrity of data.
    • Preparing final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends.
    • Develop a robust strategic information approach that can track the immediate and intermediate effects of program activities, including changes in knowledge, attitudes, responsiveness, data use and technical assistance demand.
    • S/he will be responsible for building the capacity of the supported facilities, county health team and project staff in collecting, utilizing, and disseminate data as well as ensuring harmonization of all data.
    • Design and implement an M&E system capable of timely tracking performance and using the data to adjust implementation for optimal performance.
    • Conduct training and workshops related to M&E for program, county, sub-county, and facility teams.
    • Ensure timely reporting of supported activities to county, MoH, and donor through KHIS2 and DATIM.
    • Scale up use of HMIS systems for HIV including eHTS, and other KenyaEMR modules.
    • Collaborate with the project team in identifying project activities, processes and outcomes for documentation and sharing lessons learned and best practices.
    • Collaborate with MoH M&E department, health informatics and data warehouse to create platform for dialogue, data sharing, and addressing key M&E issues within MoH.
    • Strong understanding of Kenya health information systems, and issues related to data (e.g., data security, tracking through the cascade etc.) on key and priority populations.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science; Mathematics or in a related field and seven (7) years of experience in health programs, at least five (5) of which are with PEPFAR-funded programs
    • Demonstrate proficiency in using spreadsheets and utilizing advance Excel to create various charts and build dashboards
    • Develop working knowledge of R programming language and STATA for analyzing and modelling of data
    • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
    • Proven expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, evaluation and implementation research, health information systems, reporting, data quality assessments, data analysis, and presentation.
    • Must have prior experience in capacity building, such as developing content, planning, and facilitating trainings and providing technical assistance
    • Preferred familiarity with adult learning principles/techniques and demonstrated ability to design and facilitate learning opportunities for adults
    • Be familiar with SQL databases and DHIS2 platform

    Clinical Improvement Specialist/Team Lead

    Job Summary:

    The overall function of this position is to ensure effective implementation of quality HIV Care and Treatment services in supported counties. Responsible for working closely with the MoH and County Health teams, partners, and service providers in the region to strengthen health systems and ensure that the quality of HIV prevention, care and treatment and TB supported across the program is consistent with the national MoH/County Health Services quality standards and guidelines. Responsible for supporting the training, on-site technical supportive supervision, mentorship, coaching and regular updates to service providers in PMTCT, HIV care and treatment and TB care for all populations.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Co-ordinate the planning, conducting, analyzing, and disseminating results of site capacity assessments at supported facilities.
    • Provide technical support through training and on-site mentorship to facility multidisciplinary teams in management of HIV, TB and related diseases as per the recommended national guidelines.
    • Examine facility operations and systems and recommend ways to improve processes geared towards enhancing patient level outcomes.
    • Represent the organization in technical capacity at county and facility level meetings.
    • Ensure achievement of program’s annual service delivery targets for the region and develop remedial plans where the targets fall short.
    • Ensure synergy with the sub county technical team in site level supervision.
    • Review facility reports and quality of care indicators routinely and provides guidance and recommendations related to tracked indicators and outcomes.
    • Support site level Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and strengthen capacity of site level MDT to increasingly use their data to support improvements for patient case management.
    • Support facility teams to build local capacity for quality improvement activities by establishing work improvement teams (WITs) at different departments that identify gaps subsequently prioritizing, analyzing, and implementing QI projects.
    • Maintain thorough documentation of activities and tracks deliverables.
    • Coordinate dashboard reviews of project clinical outcomes and utilize project data to prioritize interventions.
    • Provide representation as delegated in critical stakeholder meetings and activities.
    • Maintain current knowledge of medical practice standards and developments.

    Skills and Experience:

    • B.Ch. B, MD or MBBS required with significant field experience in clinical and/or community-based care of persons living with HIV/AIDS
    • Registered clinical officer with over five (5) years’ experience in HIV/ AIDS program implementation may be considered
    • Experience in healthcare programming at the field level and providing technical assistance to partner organizations knowledge and experience of ART programmatic and technical issues highly desired
    • Program management experience and experience in a supervisory role is a plus
    • Knowledge and experience with Kenya HIV Quality Improvement Framework
    • Experience working with government institutions, counties, and local partners

    Prevention Of Mother To Child Transmission Improvement Specialist

    Job Summary:

    The overall function of this position is to ensure that pregnant and lactating women and their infants receive sustainable, high quality and client focused Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV, HIV exposed infants receive recommended follow up and HIV infected children receive Pediatric HIV services as per the National guidance.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Organize and oversee capacity building activities for health providers and case managers working within MNCH clinics through trainings, update sessions.
    • Providing supportive supervision, mentorship and on the job training for all the clinical staff at USAID Stawisha Pwani supported health facilities.
    • Work to improve patient management through identifying and improving client flow systems, data capture, clinical management, clinical recording, referral to laboratory and pharmacy and preventing loses to follow for Pregnant women and children.
    • Oversee eligibility testing amongst pregnant and lactating women in supported health facilities in line with the elimination agenda.
    • Support facilities to ensure good client monitoring and viral suppression among pregnant and breastfeeding women.
    • Institutionalize continuous quality improvement systems for, continuity of care and patient care improvement.
    • Develop and strengthen adherence and retention Innovations and evidence-based interventions through staff mentorship and follow-up and document best practices.
    • Develops and distributes appropriate job aides, educational material, and reporting tools for eMTCT support health facility staff and counselors.
    • Support collection, collation, and review of critical PMTCT data, indicators and activities on a monthly and quarterly basis detailing proposed objectives and activities for PMTCT/Pediatric HIV at USAID Stawisha Pwani supported facilities.
    • To represent the Program and PMTCT Advisor in technical working groups at sub-county and county levels when called upon.
    • Represent the organization at stakeholder meetings within their supported areas of work
    • Evaluate outcomes of PMTCT related activities and shares recommendations for program improvement.

    Skills and Experience:

    • MD or MBBS required with significant field experience in nursing and/or community-based care of persons living with HIV/AIDS.
    • Experience in Health Care programming at the field level and providing technical assistance to partner organizations knowledge and experience of ART programmatic and technical issues highly desired.
    • Program management experience and experience in a supervisory role is a plus.
    • Knowledge and experience with Kenya HIV Quality Improvement Framework.
    • NASCOP ToT on PMTCT/ART related field is an added Training in PMTCT and Adult/Pediatric ART is an added advantage
    • Five (5) years’ experience providing and/or overseeing PMTCT services at facility and sub-county/County level
    • Good report writing skills and data use to inform programming.
