    • Experience of teaching KS3 in Maths for at least 3 years

    • Successful experience in raising student achievement and adding value.
    • Experience of teaching in a Prep School context
    • Experience in teaching English as well as another subject

    SEND Teacher Prep School

    The Role

    St Andrew’s Prep School is seeking to appoint a part time SEND Teacher. The successful candidate will not only teach students who need support or challenge but also support the class teacher, across the key stages, to provide the very best teaching and learning opportunities. 

    Qualifications

    • A good degree
    • Recognized teaching qualification e.g. PGCE
    • SEND qualifications
    • A  demonstrable commitment to professional self-improvement

    Experience

    • Training in a range of learning strategies eg literacy, SEND, phonics, Dyslexia
    • A proven track record of excellent teaching or supporting children in Key Stage 1—3 with basic literacy and numeracy skills
    • Basic understanding of child development and learning
    • Proven team player
    • Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and legislation
    • An understanding of UK national/ foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes
    • Developed understanding of child development and learning

    Boarding House Parent - Prep School

    The Role

    St Andrew’s Prep School is seeking to appoint Boarding House Parents for Years 7 and 8 boys.  This  role will also include teaching, so in your application, please state subjects you are qualified to teach. The successful candidates will be expected to build relationships with the students and parents and provide the very best care and support for each student in the Boarding House. They will lead a core team of staff to ensure the best possible care is offered within the Boarding House. They are also responsible for the pastoral welfare and safety of the pupils and for creating a dynamic boarding program

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A good degree
    • Recognized teaching qualification e.g. PGCE
    • Registered with the Kenyan Teacher’s Commission TSC
    • A  demonstrable commitment to professional self-improvement
    • A good degree in either Education or PGCE in Education

    EXPERIENCE

    • Experience of delivering pastoral care: this may be as a House Parent, Tutor or in other areas of School life
    • At least 3 years teaching experience
    • A proven track record of excellent teaching and classroom management skills
    • Experience of Boarding
    • Experience of managing a team
    • Experience of teaching in a Prep School Context.
    • Experience of teaching English, Mathematics, EYFS , Humanities & SEND

    Skills

    • An ability to offer co-curricular expertise, e.g. Coach games
