    Tutorial Fellow - Health Systems Management

    Job Objective

    Reporting to the Head of Department - Business and Economics

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Teaching Course Units in areas allocated by the Head of Department, 
    • Evaluating the outcomes of individuals’ learning through formal assessment, 
    • Assisting in the development of learning materials and producing study manuals, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records  
    • Monitoring student progress, achievement and attendance and following through, in any case, requires attention to their full logical conclusion 
    • Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking of examinations and other assessments 
    • Carrying out research, writing research grant proposals, and obtaining support for research funding in line with the University’s objectives. 
    • Seek and participate in consultancies. 
    • Dissemination of research outputs. 
    • Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff. 
    • Carrying out administrative duties 
    • Any other duties as they may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description. 

    qualification and experience

    • Master of Science in Health Systems Management degree or in a relevant field from a recognised/accredited University in the relevant field 
    • Bachelor of Science in Health Systems Management degree or in the relevant field from a recognised/accredited University. 
    • At least three years of post-qualification work experience; 
    • Demonstrated potential for university teaching and research. 
    • Commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students.

    Lecturer - Geography

    Job Objective

    To design, develop, plan and deliver a programme of teaching to students, in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully and enable the university to generate income; to develop, carry out and manage research projects to extend knowledge of the relevant subject area; to provide service to the community and the professions; to translate knowledge into practice; to write or publish books or other creative works.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Delivering high-quality lectures and practicals. 
    • Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required. 
    • Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities. 
    • Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals. 
    • Seeking and participating in consultancies. 
    • Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events. 
    • Dissemination of research outputs. 
    • Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff. 
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job.

    qualification and experience

    • An earned Bachelor's, Master's Degree and PhD in Geography from a recognised/accredited university in the relevant field. 
    • A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) are from refereed journal articles.
    • At least three (3) years post-qualification work experience. 
    • Be registered by the relevant professional body

    • Registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification and progressing. 
    • Be registered or registrable with relevant professional body (where applicable) 
    • At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience. 
    • Demonstrated university-level teaching experience and research. 
    • Commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students.

    Senior Assistant Registrar- Assessment

    Duties and responsibilities

    Reporting to the Registrar-Academic Affairs, the position holder will be responsible for:  

    • Coordination and management of University examinations 
    • Overseeing examination timetabling, printing and administration
    • Ensuring compliance with examination regulations and quality assurance standards
    • Managing examination results processing
    • Managing the verification and release of examination results
    • Preparing examination budgets and procurement plans
    • Inducting staff and students on examination policies and procedures
    • Overseeing examination setting, safe storage, administration, marking, and results verification
    • Overseeing moderation of examinations
    • Coordinating the appointment and management of external examiners in liaison with academic schools
    • Monitoring implementation of external examiner reports
    • Overseeing preparation and auditing of graduation list
    • Liaising with the Records Office on issuance of transcripts and certificates.
    • Safeguarding the credibility and security of all institutional assessments.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned. 

    qualification and experience

    • A minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited University. A PhD qualification will be an added advantage.
    • A qualification in Education from a recognised University will be an added advantage.
    • A relevant and recognised professional qualification.
    • Membership to a relevant and recognized professional body
    • At least five (5) years of relevant working experience, including a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory position
    • Proven experience in managing complex examination processes
    • Experience with examination bodies, academic regulations, policies, and quality assurance frameworks
    • Proficiency in using academic management information systems. 
    • Possesses leadership and team management skills. 
    • Possesses organisational and planning skills. 
    • Possesses strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. 
    • High level of integrity and professionalism. 
    • Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools & AI.
