    Kakamega County is one of the 47 counties in the Republic of Kenya. It borders Vihiga County to the south, Siaya County to the West, Bungoma County to the North and Nandi County to the East. The county covers an area of 3050.3 Km2 (Kakamega CDP, 2013). The altitude of the county is between 1,240 metres and 2,000 metres above sea level.

    Programme Finance Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Verification of vouchers and committal documents in accordance with laid down rules and regulations;
    • Data capture, maintenance of primary records such as cashbooks, ledgers, vote books, registers and preparation of simple management reports;
    • Safe custody of programme records and assets;
    • Receiving duly processed payments and receipt vouchers;
    • Writing cheques and posting payments and receipt vouchers in the cash books;
    • Balancing and ruling of the cash books on daily basis;
    • Preparation of reconciliations of bank statements
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, biannual & annual financial reports
    • Process invoices

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance Option) or Business Administration (Accounting Option)

    OR

    • Passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (K) Examination or its approved equivalent qualification;
    • Proven work experience as Finance officer or similar role
    • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
    • Strong ethics with an ability to manage date

    Monthly consolidated Stipend: Ksh. – 40,000 p.m.

    Programme ICT Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Locating and seizing chances to enhance and update software and systems
    • Conducting routine evaluations of networks and data security
    • Running routine systems operations report and sharing them with the programme Director.
    • Writing and testing simple computer programs
    • Assisting in implementation of the computer systems
    • Providing user support and training users
    • Repair and maintenance of ICT equipment
    • Help define IT infrastructure strategy architecture and processes

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Diploma in any of the following fields: computer science, electrical/electronic engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • KSCE mean grade C (plain) with at least a C- in mathematics and English/Kiswahili or its approved equivalent.
    • Experience leading and managing large IT infrastructure across various technologies
    • Excellent working knowledge with computer systems, security, networks, system administration, database and data storage systems.
    • Strong critical thinking and decision making skills
    • Excellent programme management skills and strong ability to prioritise.
    • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices

    Monthly consolidated Stipend: Ksh. – 33,000 p.m.

    Programme Typist

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • File and update contact information of employees, customer, supplies and external partners
    • Support and facilitate the completion of regular reports
    • Word and data processing;
    • Operating office equipment;
    • Attending to visitors/clients;
    • Handling telephone calls and appointments and undertaking occasional receptionist duties

    Programme Office Clerk - 5 Positions

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collecting statistical records for the programme.
    • Sorting, filing incoming mail & dispatching correspondence;
    • Maintaining an efficient filing system;
    • Processing appointments letters, discipline, transfers and other related duties in Human Resource Management;
    • Computation of financial or statistical records based on routine or special sources of information;
    • Undertaking basic bookkeeping tasks and issues invoices and checks
    • Preparing payment vouchers;
    • Compiling data and drafting simple letters;

    Programme Communication Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communication strategy based on targeted audience.
    • Information gathering, establishing and maintaining effective relationship with journalists and maintain media database
    • Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics
    • Verifying information authenticity,
    • Editing and dispatching the information for dissemination to the public and media under the guidance of a senior officer.
    • Manage conflict as it arises and escalate to management

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Have Kenya Certificate of Education (KCSE) mean grade C with a minimum of C+ in English or Kiswahili
    • Have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Communication Studies, Public Relations or any other approved equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
    • Relevant experience in communication
    • Knowledge of desktop publishing software
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
    • Be proficient in Microsoft office content management system and media platforms.
    • Fluency in English (writing, speaking and reading) is required

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist with planning and coordination of programs and the activities
    • Monitor implementation of programme goals
    • Ensure smooth running and coordination of the programme in various areas of jurisdiction
    • Coordinate programme communication in sub counties
    • Overseeing the development of programme deliverables
    • Monitoring action plans and processes
