    Head Innovation & New Ventures

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Formalize and drive the engagement of new venture partners (both new venture capital providers and start up partners)
    • Formulate new ventures partnership engagement strategies, policies, frameworks, and tools and ensure compliance & execution in line with business growth needs and expectations.
    • Engage and socialize the KCB Digital Payments Platform and Gateway to FinTech’s, start-ups and joint ventures and their respective values chains to drive payments, disbursements, savings and digital trade products.
    • Ensure Ecosystem engagement, which involves Fintechs proposals reviews & Elite club build, hackathons, VC unicorn partnerships & funding opportunities to scale  innovations including social efforts & governance for large partners; Learning & knowledge transfer partners (start ups support)
    • Steward the Buni innovation sandbox and guide the API play with venture partners and FinTech’s. Engage the developer community with targeted hackathons, accelerator, and crowd sourcing programs to grow a steady stream of concepts and innovations into the KCB innovation pipeline.
    • Engage with startups and fintechs to ensure that the bank’s digital platform is the choice partner for wallet as a service, payments, savings, loan and transfer services.
    • Drive interoperability discussions and integrations with financial institutions, Telcos and Saccos to ensure users have a seamless interaction with various platforms through well designed and thought-out customer journeys and use cases.
    • Steward the VC and fintech start-ups policy - VC Entry rules, Partnership guide, VC Funding & cost mgmt., VC performance management, Revenue share model, VC Entry /Exit protocols, M&A Models, innovation funding model, Venture capitalists’ selection / engagement and start-up to VC partner matching etc 
    •  Manage the process of contracting, onboarding, integration, deployment and roll out of agreed services for the signed-up new ventures & fintech partners both internally and externally.
    • Design and execute the innovation management strategy, framework, and tools to achieve the Group’s new products commercial and business objectives. 
    • Develop and maintain an opportunity assessment framework to guide the identification, promotion, and development of new ventures, fintech and BAAS partnerships and/or ecosystem engagements.
    • Proactively push design thinking and work closely with new ventures, fintech partners, product and engineering teams, both internally and externally to build the best customer experience for KCB digital & partnership  innovation products.
    • Manage startups and fintech’s to deliver capacity, capability, and scale for the bank.
    • Coach, develop and manage the inovvation team.

    The successful candidate should have the following:

    • A Bachelor’s degree preferably in Technology, Design or Business related field
    • A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • At least 8 years of relevant work experience including leading digital product development, business development, and managing teams. Work experience should also include the below: 
    • Digital Product and platform management
    • innovation and product development management
    • Delivery of mobile financial products and services in a high growth environment
    • Building relationships, networks & Managing teams
    • Project Management/Relationship Management.
    • Mobile Money or Payments or Lending Platform Support.

    Senior Manager - Innovation

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    •  Responsible for the collection and funnelling of innovation pitches from internal & external stakeholders; concepts& Ideas collection from customers, employees & partners across the group through both virtual and physical channels. Provide an open web portal for acceptance of innovation suggestions and formal submission of innovation pitches by customers and partners.
    • Responsible for creating structure and guidance in Innovation management process; Provide guidance templates for business cases across all approval gates (Level 0 – for cost implications modelling and 1 for full GTSC review) prior to GTSC presentations. Leverage innovation panel sessions split into internal & external. For external, invite product owner support (ensure right resources assigned to drive delivery). Provide an aggregated one portal view of all group innovation projects within the three-year innovation deployment pipeline. 
    •  Drive innovation management best practise sharing;  market & customer behavior research reviews, innovationbest practice dissemination, innovation case studies, knowledge base management. Stewardship of knowledge base to PIR.
    • Ecosystem engagement – Fintechs proposals reviews & Elite club build, hackathons, VC unicorn partnerships & funding opportunities to scale innovations including social efforts & governance for large partners e.g. MasterCard, GCFetc
    •  Scheduling Innovation panel meetings; leverage the gate process to optimize and rationalize KCB Group Innovation pipeline portfolio. Review new product / services concept pitches and maximize the banks innovation opportunities, enable effective cross or upselling of the existing product portfolio and define opportunity gaps for development based on customer needs, organization capability, market trends, and competitor activity amongst others 
    • Manage and ensure the implementation of the Group Innovation Policy, Process and Ways of working to ensure the process is dynamic and responsive to Business needs. Secretariat to the Innovation panel & Committee of Operational Excellence (COE)
    •  Guide internal & external innovation partners on ideation and pitching of all new business propositions, business case development, scheduling of innovation panel presentations & preparing teams for COE & GTSC presentation
    • Work with the internal stakeholder teams on innovation panel funneling and business case development of aligned products/services.
    • Support product development teams internally and externally by ensuring guidance and clarity in development of business cases and business requirement documents (BRDs) presented at GTSC & COE
    • Ensure compliance with all DFS policies and processes in the execution of all tasks by self and team

    The successful candidate should have the following:

    • A Bachelor’s degree preferably in Technology, Design or business related field
    • A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • At least 6 years of relevant work experience including leading innovation management, project management, and managing teams.  
    • Work experience should also include the below: 
      • Innovation management
      • Gate process management 
      • Digital Product and platform management
      • Business development/Sales &. marketing management.

    Senior Relationship Manager, Investor Services

    Main Duties & Responsibilities 

    • Source, expand and retain existing client relationships with a focus on global custody business, so as to increase market share and profitability.
    • Ensure financial and business growth targets assigned are achieved.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and identification of repeat and new business opportunities.
    • Manage a relationship team to deliver on the assigned financial and performance targets.
    • Ensures all client KYC/AML documentation is up to date.
    • Identify and manage the risks associated with local and global custody services business. 
    • Attend Client meetings, Annual General Meetings, new business pitches and make presentations as appropriate.
    • Ensure that all Custody Reports are submitted to clients as per SLA timelines.
    • Ensure billing and collection of revenue for custody services rendered.
    • Uphold the highest levels of integrity and ethical standards.

    Academic and Professional Requirements

    • University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Banking, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
    • Master’s degree and professional qualifications (CISI, TDPK) from recognized institutions will be an added advantage.
    • Seven (7) years’ banking experience in the Financial/banking sector, (5) of which should be in Relationship Management in local and global Custody Services.
    • Track record of attaining targets of business growth and profitability in the financial services and banking sector.
    • Have appreciation and operating knowledge of the banking industry, market, trends as well as challenges.
    • Demonstrable cross-cultural, people and relationship management skills, networking and negotiation skills, team motivation and leadership competence. 
    • Sound understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements of corporate governance, business and banking operations.
