    Business Operations Manager

    Primary responsibilities:

    We are looking for a professional Business Operations Manager to coordinate and oversee our organization’s operations and be part of the leadership team at Pezesha. This person should be ready to go an extra mile and be hands on in ensuring that all functions of the business are always running smoothly, carry out Human Resources functions and ensure productivity and performance. The Business Operations Manager should be willing to be doing tasks outside of their comfort zone i.e answering random questions, taking on small projects that don’t fall to any particular team … countless tasks that don’t seem pressing when taken in isolation, but added up are essential to the business.Ultimately, we’ll trust you to help us remain compliant, efficient and scale across all functions.

    Roles and responsibilities:

    The key duties of the Business Operations Manager will include but not be limited to the following;

    •  Work very closely with the CEO and other team leaders by providing comprehensive support, coordination and communication at all levels.
    • Analyze and improve organizational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency
    • Assist with recruiting and staff training when necessary, and help promote a company culture that encourages morale and performance.
    • Manage staff and provide support by also introducing and implementing best practices across all teams
    • Build and manage partnerships strategic discussions, processes and retention
    • Perform quality controls and monitor team KPIs and portfolio growth across all markets
    • Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures as an ongoing concern.
    • Play a pivotal role in managing budgets, and employ cost effective strategies to protect company assets.
    • Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks that facilitate the CEO’s ability to effectively lead the organization. Including overseeing budgeting, petty cash, reporting, planning, and auditing.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
    • At least 4 years of proven work experience as Business Operations Manager, Corporate Finance or similar role
    • Bachelor Degree in Business or Operations or Corporate Finance or a related field.

    Customer Care & Debt Collections Officer

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Owning the delinquent portfolio assigned to you, including constant management and follow-ups of repayments.
    • Able to respond to caller concerns and difficulties with a sense of empathy and understanding, but also able to firmly request that each borrower make his or her due payment or make some arrangements to begin paying off the delinquent account.
    • Keeping our databases, dashboards and spreadsheets up-to-date with the status of the loan records.
    • Being the bridge between the customer and Pezesha by seeking feedback from the customer and suggesting product and process improvements.

    Skills, Qualifications and Experiences:

    • At least 1 year of work experience in the collections department of a lending organisation Experience in a high-growth environment preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
    • Must be able to set up payment plans based on information provided by the borrower.
    • Flexibility towards working hours as sometimes calls and visits may need to be done on weekends.
    • High level of interpersonal maturity, hardworking, and professionalism.

    SME Credit Relationship officer

    Primary job description

    • Onboarding, vetting and evaluation of potential SMEs/Merchants to be funded by Pezesha on a regular basis using our internal processes and standards
    • Onboard, manage and retain SME related partners and their commissions payouts
    • Marketing & Financial education in relation to SMEs needs and support
    • Provide customer support via calling and follow up with potential and funded SMEs on additional information required as well as repayments of loans for those successfully funded by Pezesha
    • Monitor and update loan accounts and information on the dashboard
    • Providing feedback and responding to customer issues on social media platforms and any other channel.
    • Assist with product testing and trainings required to the targeted segments or partners while ensuring compliance and quality assurance and collaborating with internal and external teams
    • Assist with developing of training materials and strategy including leading the trainings/workshops while leveraging on various channels such as field/in person, virtual and through focus groups discussions among others
    • Required documentation on product tests, customer feedback and process improvements including completing loan contracts with qualified SMEs
    • Assist with impact measurement i.e. case studies, testimonials and analysis needed
    • Drive strategic sales, scale and productivity to ensure the overall success of the company’s products and services

    Qualifications/Skills

    • At least a graduate of Commerce, Administration, Accounting, Finance or Marketing or a related field
    • Solid understanding of direct/indirect lending products and practices
    • Basic computer skills and a quick learner
    • At least 2 years of professional work experience in sales or marketing or handling customer support or as a loan officer
    • ADDED ADVANTAGE: Credit Operations & SME evaluations experiences from a bank or Fintech environment
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and self drive toward targets while ensuring quality output and prioritization.

    Junior Data Scientist

    Job Overview

    We are looking for enthusiastic upcoming Data Scientists who will support our products, portfolios and leadership teams with insights gained from analysing company and portfolio data. The ideal candidate is adept at using wider data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimisation and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in data and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify data gaps, recommend and implement solutions to address these gaps
    • Provide data insights to products team that will help in scaling and product optimisation
    • Monitor and report experiment results/impact analysis
    • Develop state of the art solutions to present data insights to management team on-demand
    • Analyse scoring data and repayment data to identify complex patterns that could inform default and non-default customer behaviour
    • Develop credit scoring models
    • Validation of credit scoring models
    • Deploy scoring models using REST APIs
    • Documentation of deployed code

    Knowledge and skills

    • BSc degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering. Masters is a plus.
    • 2+ years of relevant experience in the data science field.
    • Knowledge and experience in machine learning algorithms(K-Means, Logistic regression are a must)
    • Strong Python, especially in a data analytics/science capacity (ex. pandas, numPy, sklearn, matplotlib, seaborn)
    • Excellent with SQL database operations
    • Experience with experimental design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data.
    • Good knowledge of statistical tests and analysis
    • Ability to communicate model outputs and analyses to stakeholders at various levels of technical expertise
    • Experience deploying predictive models at scale
    • Keen eye for detail and thoughtful investigation of data before relying upon it
    • Thrives on teamwork
    • Experience in cloud technologies GCP and AWS
    • Knowledge in parallel processing technologies i.e Spark, Dask
    • Bonus: Experience working with financial data or credit scoring models
