    Assistant Plant Controller

    Key responsibilities:

    • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts to ensure timely, accurate, and insightful performance reporting.
    • Conduct comprehensive variance analysis (materials, labour, overheads, and yield variances) to identify key cost drivers and support informed management decisions.
    • Maintain and monitor product costing models in SAP FICO, ensuring accuracy in material master data, BOMs, and routings for reliable cost estimation.
    • Monitor and control manufacturing costs, providing actionable insights on cost trends, budget variances, and opportunities for process efficiency and cost optimisation.
    • Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including data preparation, consolidation, and variance interpretation against actual performance.
    • Prepare detailed cost reports and product profitability analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of SAP FICO transactions and reconciliations, maintaining proper integration between Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules.
    • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities in SAP, including cost centre assessments, allocations, WIP valuation, and inventory reconciliation.
    • Assist in the preparation of management and board presentation packs, summarising key financial insights and variances.
    • Assist in continuous process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial and cost reporting.
    • Provide financial and analytical support to plant and operations teams, acting as a strategic business partner in operational planning and performance monitoring.

    Requirements

    Qualifications required:

    • Minimum academic qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce (Accounting or Finance option).
    • Qualifications as an added advantage: CPA (K) or equivalent
    • Professional registration: ICPAK

    Experience required:

    • General work experience (years): Minimum of 8 years’ overall experience, with at least 3 years in plant controlling, cost accounting, or management accounting within a manufacturing environment.

    • Deep understanding of product costing and cost control in a manufacturing setup.

    Credit Controller

    Key responsibilities:

    • Assist in setting up the credit control systems
    • Oversight of the credit control daily and ensure the monthly collection targets are met.
    • Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner
    • Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the company
    • Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales
    • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
    • Regular meetings with relevant stakeholders to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
    • Identify changes in payment patterns and proactively propose action to avert indebtedness
    • Ensure that all transactions are compliant with set regulations
    • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
    • Provide accurate advice on billing queries
    • Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
    • Propose write off of irrecoverable WIP and disbursements
    • Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requested
    • Post payments to accounts and allocate as required
    • Undertake account reconciliations as required
    • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
    • Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
    • Develop the credit management capability within the practice
    • Other duties as delegated from time to time by the line manager or any other person designated in their absence
    • Keep the partnership up to date with new credit management techniques and practices

    Credit Control Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    Credit Control & Collections

    • Oversee daily credit control operations for Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM) and Safal Building Systems (SBS) to ensure monthly collection targets are met.
    • Follow up with customers to ensure timely settlement of outstanding balances.
    • Monitor and achieve cash collection and debtor days (DSO) targets.
    • Identify changes in payment patterns and proactively recommend actions to minimize credit risk.
    • Handle billing disputes and negotiate payments within agreed terms.
    • Maintain positive customer relationships and effective account management.

    Reporting & Compliance

    • Prepare cash flow forecasts and credit management reports.
    • Ensure all transactions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure monthly reporting deadlines are met.
    • Issue monthly client statements and correspondence as required.
    • Provide accurate advice and timely resolution on credit control queries.

    Governance & Risk Management

    • Recommend irrecoverable debts for write-off in line with policy and present quarterly proposals to the Credit Committee.
    • Coordinate, minute, and follow up on monthly Credit Review Committee meetings.
    • Engage internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding balances and improve collections.

    Process Improvement & Capability Building

    • Support the development and implementation of credit control systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Develop credit management capability within the team.
    • Stay updated on emerging credit management practices and techniques.

    General

    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • CPA (K) certification – mandatory.
    • MBA – added advantage.
    • Professional registration with ICPAK – added advantage.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 15 years of general work experience.
    • At least 5 years in a similar role or discipline.
    • Experience within the manufacturing industry is required.
