Reporting to the Manager, Planning and Design the position holder whose scope for this position is Energy Performance Optimization, will be responsible for end to end ownership of energy systems digitalization, automation in full consideration of energy efficiency and reduction in energy consumption, energy systems digitalisation and automation initiatives spectrum of network(Data centre, Hub sites, BTS sites)in the region assigned cluster.

- Drive implementation of energy systems digitalization and automation.
- Energy data analysis and presentation.
- Lead Energy consumption reduction and increase in Energy efficiency drive initiatives.
- Energy project management governance to ensure conformance with data center standards and risk integration of energy projects into existing systems.
- Liaise with Data Center OPS/Energy Planning/ Energy Implementation teams, and Regional Network Maintenance team to ensure Optimized energy supply and utilization.
- Health and safety standards are maintained and improved during project execution.

- Energy equipment inventory management.
- Vendor Selection for different projects evaluation of EOI and RFP documents for vendor selection.
- Vendor management evaluation and appraisal for Energy equipment performance, vendors support and SLA performance and project implementation contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication, Computer, IT or related field.
- Should have demonstratable 3yrs experience working in energy system in telecommission environment.
- Should demonstrate expertise IT/computer skills.
- Should demonstrate proficiency in Data analytical and presentation skills.

Reporting to the Manager, Power Implementations the position holder is responsible for power implementation works within Safaricom access networks, Data Centers, MSRs and OLTs. The successful candidate will implement power installations and optimisations, implement Capacity upgrades for data centres and MSRs and efficiently manage energy within assigned network cluster.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing and coordinating power and energy projects in BTSs, MSRs, Data centers, MGWs, BSCs, Hub sites and OLTs including installations of generators, batteries, rectifiers, Stabilizers etc.
- Site Energy management and implementation of energy savings initiatives including optimization of energy mix for efficient operation, management of fuel delivery, tracking power consumption and performance trends.
- Coordinate implementation of greening initiatives in the assigned cluster including solar installations, efficient cooling installations, hybrid power systems installations.
- Coordinate energy compliance in the assigned region including ISO 50001.
- Energy Data-Development and maintenance of efficient energy management database, NOPEX reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Must have network connectivity certifications on professional level .i.e. CCIP, CCNP, CCVP, CCSP HCNP, HCIP, CWNP and above.
