    Specialist, Employee Relations

    Role purpose

    • To provide expert advice on employee relations matters, uphold SCI’s values of integrity and accountability, and contribute to a productive and inclusive work environment. This role ensures fair and consistent handling of investigations, disciplinary and appeal processes, while fostering a culture of respect and empowerment. By building capacity in employee relations best practices, this role supports the achievement of SCI’s mission to protect and promote the well being of children.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Lead and manage the investigation and resolution of employee grievances and disciplinary cases, partnering with colleagues on complex multi-faceted cases, ensuring a fair and timely process that upholds SCI’s values and policies. 
    • Monitor and report on employee relations trends to identify areas for improvement and inform policies and practices, ensuring SCI remains a safe, fair, and equitable organisation. 
    • Foster strong relationships with employees at all levels, promoting open communication and trust to create a collaborative and respectful work environment. 
    • Provide expert advice and support to managers on complex employee relations issues, enhancing their capability to handle cases effectively and in alignment with organisational values and legal requirements.
    • Partnering with Country Office Senior Management Teams as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) to provide guidance on all highly complex employee relations issues with advice from internal or external legal teams as needed

    Global Internal Communications Officer

    Role purpose
    The Global Internal Communications Officer is responsible for supporting the Global Internal Communications Unit to deliver Save the Children International’s internal communications plan and help engage our 25,000 staff across 110 countries around the world. The role will be responsible for creating and delivering internal communications content and stories, as well as manage our internal communications channels, e.g. our weekly global newsletter. 
    The Global Internal Communications Officer will also support and utilise tools to ensure our internal communications and events are interactive and engaging in our remote-first working environment. The post holder works collaboratively with communications, strategy and HR teams, as well the wider CEO’s office team where this unit sits.
    This role will be based in a small Global Internal Communications unit, which forms part of our wider CEO Office. This unit is responsible for developing and delivering simple, informative and inspiring communications that will make our staff feel valued, motivated and proud to work as part of our global movement. It is also responsible for supporting senior leadership (including the CEO) to engage, inspire and build trust among staff and key stakeholders across the Save the Children movement.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Support the delivery of Save the Children International’s global internal and leadership communications strategy to engage and inspire our 25,000 staff around the world
    • Create and deliver internal communications content and stories – writing stories, case studies, shout outs – for use on our internal channels, working closely with colleagues across our Global Teams and Country Offices
    • Discover and develop inspiring new content and ensure we are communicating clearly, concisely and consistently across our internal channels
    • Utilise new tools for hybrid and virtual internal events to ensure they’re interactive and engaging, and support the delivery of internal staff meetings
    • Produce high-quality written and video internal communications materials to inspire and engage staff (e.g. infographics, presentation materials, Sharepoint site pages) using our Save the Children branding guidance and tools 
    • Track key metrics for our internal communications tools and produce regular reports, identifying areas for improvement
    • Support the Leadership and Internal Communications Lead with producing leadership updates to Save the Children’s Board and Member organisations

    MEAL Advisor

    Role purpose

    • To drive and enhance the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) capabilities within Save the Children's country offices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data and evidence to support strategic decision-making and programme effectiveness while fostering an environment of accountability and continuous learning within a diverse and inclusive team context.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Provide the first line of support to country teams on monitoring and accountability, including support or signposting on relevant SC MEAL procedures and standards, indicator choice/ logframe development, use of digital tools for data collection and analysis, maintaining IPTTs for effective project management, and on related work with partners.
    • Act as focal point for country teams on data and evidence, including on new initiatives, emerging needs, challenges and opportunities.
    • Develop MEAL master-budget and work with awards management, fundraising and technical teams to ensure MEAL activities and costs are adequately covered and Lead the development of response-level MEAL strategy, frameworks and systems and ensure roll out of core SCI.
    • Support response staff to manage monitoring and evaluation of programme/project activities as agreed in MEAL frameworks or plans. Capacity build technical field staff in carrying out the work and ensure participatory and child-friendly approaches adopted wherever possible;
    • Provide support to country SMTs and Operations teams on effective approaches to using quality data and evidence in routine management and learning.
    • Quality assure monitoring and accountability data and evidence used for global reporting and insights (including relevant Program KPIs, ‘Projects on Track’ and Strategy Monitoring)~Identify, develop and/ or deliver capacity-strengthening initiatives to ensure MEAL/ REALM staff in country offices and our partners have the necessary competencies to generate and analyse quality monitoring and accountability data and evidence, use appropriate digital solutions in support of this.
    • Provide technical support to country offices to generate and use reliable monitoring mechanism through Quality Benchmarks (QBs) and feedback from children and communities as part of broader work on Accountability to Children and Communities with colleagues focused on Child Participation and Child Rights programming.
    • Support the development of the response Master Logframe to support proposal logframes, MEAL frameworks, plans and budgets.
    • Help position SC as a thought leader by supporting development and delivery of written and oral communications in key internal and external forums, by self and other SC leaders. Serve as a credible, influential voice on technical and policy issues, ensuring alignment with other thematic areas, and positioning Save the Children as a leader in the sector.

    • Experience in leading teams in monitoring, accountability and evidence collection and analysis, and delivering to a high standard.
    • Strong experience of providing effective technical support in development and humanitarian setting to others, and of influencing effective practice in staff who you do not line manage
    • Proven track record in putting quality data and evidence from monitoring and accountability to use for continuous improvement in programming and understanding of reporting and compliance uses of data.
    • Understanding of external thinking and debates about approaches to generating and using data and evidence to drive impact.
    • Good understanding of child rights programming.
    • Track record of leading or delivering capacity-strengthening initiatives.
    • Strong knowledge of digital tools for monitoring and accountability and ability to interface effectively with IT/ digital specialists.

    Legal Counsel, French Speaking

    Principal Accountabilities
    Delivering high quality and professional advice and support to SCI Country Offices and Global Teams on a diverse range of legal issues, including:

    • Acting as the Legal Business Partner to SCI Country Offices in the West and Central Africa region (and/or other regions), providing timely, pragmatic and solutions-oriented legal support.
    • Advising Global Teams and senior stakeholders on matters of global scope or implication, including on legal risk and governance-related matters;
    • Advising on the legal aspects of scaling up programming operations, in particular, in a humanitarian crisis;
    • Advising on issues arising under Save the Children’s own internal framework;
    • Managing advice from and relationships with SCI’s external legal advisors and helping SCI stakeholders to interpret and apply such advice;
    • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts (including partnership agreements, goods and services contracts, and other legal frameworks with Governments, multi-lateral agencies, United Nations agencies, private sector and other NGOs), including providing advice and legal support to other Global Teams Business Partners, Country Office and Global Teams stakeholders and wider Save the Children constituents; 
    • Identifying opportunities for training and new legal tools to manage and mitigate organisational risk, developing and delivering such training and tools; 
    • Lead legal team initiatives, for example relating to managing and fostering pro bono law firm relationships, identifying training and mentoring opportunities within the legal team;
    • Advising on legal compliance areas such as fraud, sanctions and anti-terrorism, either working in conjunction with SCI’s legal compliance team or independently (as required and as appropriate); and
    • Undertake line management if required (formal or informal) and/or mentoring of more junior members of the team.

    Experience and Skills
    Essential

    • Post-qualification experience gained in a reputable private practice or in-house legal team in one or more of the following areas of law: general corporate/commercial, charity/not-for profit, dispute resolution, regulatory.
    • Fluency in French (written and spoken).

    • Ability to work independently, requesting support where needed and using initiative to tackle new areas of law with confidence.

    Senior Audit Specialist

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Manage the planning, execution, and follow-up of audit assignments, delivering high-quality and timely assurance and advisory outputs in line with professional standards.

    Specialist, Digital Workplace Technology

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Define and execute a comprehensive digital workplace strategy for SCI digital workplace solutions, including Microsoft 365 applications, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure Active Directory. This strategy aligns with business needs, fostering relevant innovation, continuoous improvement and drive operational excellence.
    • Develop technical roadmaps, policies, standards, engineering procedures, and blueprints for relevant digital workplace products.
    • Provide assessment, analysis and recommendations for requests for the provision new tools and/or enhanced levels of licence from stakeholders
    • Optimize the use of collaboration tools to enhance communication and teamwork across the organization.
