    Team Leader Distribution

    Key Purpose Statement

    • The primary role of the Distribution Driver Team Leader is to lead the SBU in the execution of the Distribution plan, ensuring that product is delivered safely, effectively and efficiently in full and on time to all our customers.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Check and ensure that team members carry out required Truck and equipment checks and that the information is recorded on the appropriate systems.
    • Develop team members and ensure that training needs are identified and closed out via one-on-one’s and performance reviews.
    • Drives performance management practices (e.g. Performance Management Way - leading the development of team goals and carrying out team meetings and team goal review sessions.
    • Communicates work practice deployment plans and ensures team buy-in
    • Coaches team members on work practice Implementation
    • Coaches team members situational problem solving
    • Ensuring that team members understand and adhere to the operational, quality and logistics standards, work instructions and maintenance schedules, work practice deployment plans and performance target.
    • Review and sign off of distribution performance (QCDSM) and ensuring that all required administrative tasks in support of the distribution driver team are carried out.
    • Ensures all pre and post trip checks are conducted and problems identified and resolved
    • Ensures all trip de-briefing procedures are adhered to and that all KPI’s are being adhered to
    • Ensuring that team members understand and adhere to the operational, quality and logistics standards, work instructions and maintenance schedules, work practice deployment plans and performance target.

    Artisan Electrical Process

    Key Purpose Statement

    • The primary role of the Process Artisan is operation of the process area according to work instructions, the execution of non-destructive quality checks and carrying out of routine maintenance. The process artisan has a primary focus on the asset care activities of the team. 

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Provide support to the shift based teams during operations.
    • Assist shift based teams with situational problem solving.
    • Carry out work during the planned maintenance window in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the Planner.
    • Where required, partake in maintenance post mortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learning’s from maintenance activities.
    • Carry out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
    • Where problems have been uncovered during routine maintenance, these must be resolved using the appropriate problem solving techniques.
    • Carry out running repairs on plant and equipment
    • When carrying out repairs, assess the problem and determine a course of action.
    • Apply the correct problem solving methodologies to resolve problems
    • Where required, partake in systemic problem solving.
    • Work in a safe manner at all times, and to identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected.
    • Carry out housekeeping tasks, and apply 5S principles during the execution of duties
    • Support NPD trials to be able to run on assets
    • Train and coach Operators on asset care and autonomous maintenance practices
    • Development of operational and technical standards and work instructions

    Skills, Experience & Education    

    Experience

    • 5 years as electrical engineering artisan
    • 3 years in utility environment

    • Vocational electrical engineering certificate & trade tested accreditation
    • Diploma in Electrical Engineering

    Expeditor Distribution

    Key Purpose Statement

    • This role is an imperative for the successful operation of the FLO system / Distribution Planning System. This position ensures an insight into the daily operations by interacting with the drivers to gather planned versus actual trip feedback on each route

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Ensure that allocation of resources agree with real time execution - Correct vehicle - Shipment - Driver
    • Work with Distribution to ensure that correct vehicles leave in correct sequence. Using systems to follow plans and highlight where plan is not executed i.e. departure time, out of sequence deliveries, customer turn-around times
    • On an ongoing basis, extract information from the FLO / Distribution planning and satellite tracking systems for the purpose of plan execution
    • At any given point need to be able to inform customers of their order whereabouts. Should be able to inform external customers of non or late delivery and internal customer of their inability to deliver
    • Conduct driver debriefs after route completion to identify noncompliance to standards, poor driver performance, no adherence to route schedule and unsafe behaviour. Summarise results into reporting format for action to be taken and master data updates by FLO planners
    • Follow up on action taken by Team Leaders and Managers for instances where unacceptable driver behaviour had been highlighted for action. Report back on exceptions to Logistics Manager
    • Collection and control of OBI devices after drivers have returned from their route (if applicable)

    Skills, Experience & Education    

    Experience

    • Minimum 1-2 years’ logistics experience
    • Experience in logistics and tracking software systems
    • Additional experience and/or exposure in sales
    • Knowledge of logistics operations in FMCG organisations

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics related courses/ or equivalent

    Specialist Control and Automation

    Key Purpose Statement 

    • The primary role of the Specialist Control and Automation  is to maintain the plant and associated devices to original installed state. In doing so it must ensure that plant availability and product quality is maintained at minimum cost; without sacrificing standards. He or she will also be required to provide continuous improvement initiatives that would enable more cost-effective manufacturing in a highly competitive market. The role also entails the need to provide coaching within his or her field of expertise to develop the skills of other technical peers. This role report to  Packaging Engineer.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    Operational support

    • Provide specialist support to the shift based teams during operations. 
    • Provide guidance and advice to the shift based teams on machine operation, machine fault finding and correct responses to machine failure modes.
    • Provide coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer of machine operation to shift based teams.
    • Review SIC’s and address deviations regularly.
    • Development of work instructions related to equipment.
    • Monitor and manage performance of equipment.
    • Ability to work shifts and be available on call-out where necessary
    • Verify and ensure that machines are running at rated speed
    • Manage Maintenance performance indicators.
    • Support continuous improvement and implement new technology.

    Planned Maintenance

    • Take part in maintenance planning meeting, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required.
    • Carry out work during the planned maintenance window in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the Planner.
    • Partake in maintenance post mortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learning’s from maintenance activities.
    • Optimisation of maintenance schedules and plant availability.
    • Coach / train Operators on autonomous maintenance tasks
    • Maintaining the integrity and security for maintenance systems.
    • Assist with ensuring that system architecture environment remains aligned with the regional asset care, C&A strategy and CCBA standards.
    • Ensure that regular line capability audits are done that would ensure that the entire line performs at rated capacity without waste.
    • Ensure that the dynamic line control is continuously optimised.

    Routine Maintenance

    • Carry out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
    • Where problems have been uncovered during routine maintenance, these must be resolved using the appropriate problem solving techniques
    • Carry out condition monitoring activities where these have been allocated to the technician in accordance with the CM schedule.

    Running Repairs

    • Partake in carrying out running repairs on plant and equipment, or support the shift artisans in carrying out repairs.
    • When carrying out repairs, assess the problem and determine a course of action.
    • Verify that running repairs carried out address the problems

    Problem Solving

    • Apply the correct problem solving methodologies to resolve problems
    • Solicit additional resources to assist in problems solving or escalate to the Packaging Engineer for direction.
    • Assist /coach fellow team members to resolve problems.
    • Take part, as a functional expert, situational and systemic problem solving.

    House keeping and Safety

    • Operate in a safe manner at all times, and to identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected.
    • Carry out work according to the work instructions and adhering to appropriate CCBA policies and procedures.
    • Carry out housekeeping tasks, and apply 5S principles during the execution of their duties
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement disaster recovery plans. 

    Support NPD implementation and trials:

    • Support NPD trials to be able to run on assets
    • Ensure adherence to NPD procedures
    • Ensure all changes on assets are well documented as per the Engineering Change Management business processes

    Training and Development

    • Train, coach, assess and sign-off PA’s and Operators on asset care and autonomous maintenance practices.
    • Development of operational and technical standards and work instructions

    Skills, Experience & Education    

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree in Mechatronics Engineering
    • PLC programming software training.
    • HMI development / programming software training.
    • PC literacy essential - Microsoft packages.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a FMCG.
    • Packaging machines (within specialist area) and functionality
