    Content Developer

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Collect and organise learning content from subject matter specialists and content owners based on the analysis of the learning module.
    • Package and repackage the learning content, ensuring compatibility with the LMS and interactivity for active engagement of the learners.
    • Test the content format to ensure its compatibility with the learning content and digital media.
    • Collect feedback on the learning package and repackage the content to accommodate the input provided and improve the interactivity of the learning module.
    • Test and evaluate the compatibility of the learning resources with the hosting Learning Management System and make the required adjustments for smooth accessibility of the learning resources
    • Document all learning resources and ensure accessibility of the resources, facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to share best practices and lessons learned in the implementation process.
    • Collaboratively work with the Instructional Designer, the Working Group, L&D Team, Content Owners, and stakeholders to co-create and contribute to effectively implementing the learning module as planned.

    Qualifications/special skills

    • An advanced University Degree( Masters or equivalent ) in Business Administration, Graphic Design, Website Design and Development, E-learning, Learning and Organisational Development, or a related field is required.
    • A 1st Level University Degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
    • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in developing and implementing induction programs, preferably in similar industries or organisations, or related areas, is required. Familiarity with e-learning platforms and technology-enabled training solutions is required. Proficiency in designing engaging and interactive training materials is desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of best practices in onboarding, adult learning principles, and organisational culture is desirable. Strong project management and organisational skills are desirable.

    Communications Specialist

    Under the general supervision of the Head of the Nairobi Convention Secretariat, and in close coordination with the Project Management Unit of the respective projects, the consultant will be responsible for the following:

    • Strategic Communications and Visibility
    • Develop and implement a short-term communications and visibility plan for the NOCAMO Project closure phase and SWIOP Project inception phase, aligned with UNEP and Nairobi Convention communication strategies.
    • Strengthen the visibility and branding of NOCAMO, SWIOP, and the Nairobi Convention across digital platforms, partner channels, and key regional events.
    • Develop and profile communication materials towards the COP 12 of the Convention.
    • Content Development and Storytelling a. Produce high-quality communication products that translate technical project outputs into engaging, audience-appropriate narratives including:
    • Human-interest stories and impact narratives ii. Articles and features for newsletters, websites, and partner platforms
    • Short success stories highlighting ocean governance, MSP, oil and gas governance, and community-based resource management interventions.
    • Apply results-based storytelling approaches that clearly articulate outcomes, impacts, and regional relevance.
    • Digital Platforms and Knowledge Products
    • Support the development and population of content for the SWIOP Project, NOCAMO Project webpage, Nairobi Convention Website and social media platforms.
    • Curate and organize knowledge products to enhance accessibility, knowledge sharing, and shared learning among countries and partners. 

    Qualifications/special skills

    • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) is required in communications, journalism, environmental communication, public relations or similar disciplines. A first level degree with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant progressive experience in strategic communications, preferably in the context of environment, international development or climate-related programmes is required.

    Technical Advisor for Common Approach to Biodiversity

    UNEP's roles in the UN Common Approach to Biodiversity are as follows:

    • Facilitates collaboration among UN agencies, governments, civil society and the private sector to ensure that biodiversity is prioritized in decision-making processes;
    •  Provides the secretariat of the UN Environment Management Group (EMG) and supports operationalization of the Common Approach through the EMG Issue Management Group on Biodiversity (IMG);
    • Collaborates with UN agencies to leverage the power of biodiversity and nature to drive equitable economic progress. The seventeenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17) will be held from 19 to 30 October 2026, Yerevan, Armenia. CBD COP17 will provide a significant opportunity for Armenia to highlight the biodiversity agenda to the forefront. 
    • The Technical Advisor for the UN Common Approach to Biodiversity will report to the Head, Nature Frameworks Support Unit, Biodiversity and Land Branch, Ecosystems Division, with day-to-day collaboration with Programme Management Officer.

    Qualifications/special skills

    • An advanced university degree in biodiversity conservation, environmental science, environment policy, environmental management or closely related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in biodiversity and environment at the national, regional, or global levels is required Specialized knowledge/skills and understanding of stakeholders in biodiversity and ecosystem management of Armenia are required.
    • Demonstrated experience in undertaking policy analysis and assessments is required Work experience in the United Nations system and/or the Intergovernmental Organizations is an advantage.
