    Design & Impact Manager

    Responsibilities of the Impact Manager

    • Leads the development of a comprehensive MEL Plan and System for WWF-Kenya;
    • Ensures that all programmes and project adheres to the WWF Network
    • Programme and Projects Management Standards (PPMS);
    • Establishes effective knowledge management mechanisms including documentation of baselines, impacts;
    • Take charge of collating and synthesizing information, updating the monitoring matrix and other monitoring tools in place for both conservation and operational objectives;
    • Assist the CD in tracking, consolidating and uploading/forwarding of project technical progress reports to WWF International, web-based repositories and/or the relevant National Organizations and donors;
    • Working closely with Departmental Heads, provide backstopping and guidance in the performance of the Organizational Strategic Plan;
    • Assist the Programme Managering providing support to project evaluations and consultancies;
    • Prepares relevant technical briefing papers and status updates to the WWF-Kenya Senior Management Team (SMT);
    • Synthesizing strategic reports aligned to the Strategic Plan for presentation to the Board through relevant Departmental Heads;
    • Take lead in MEL capacity building activities for WWF – Kenya Project staff, including WWF Network Standards trainings;
    • In liaison with the WWF-Kenya Communications Manager, compile news and produce conservation communication materials to promote the Organization’s brand;
    • Convene and facilitate learning events for WWF-Kenya staff to strengthen implementation delivery and capturing of best practices;
    • Perform other relevant duties as requested by the CD or the Executive Director

    Qualifications of the Design & Impact Manager

    • University degree with at least MSc level in an appropriate field of management or natural sciences (conservation, environment, natural resource management,marine, forest, freshwater, terrestrial ecology, animal sciences);
    • Professional training in Monitoring and Evaluation;
    • At least 7 years professional experience in project/programme design implementation and M&E.

    Key Competencies

    • Experience with practical development and implementation of natural resource management and related result-based management oriented monitoring system;
      Knowledge of programme design (situation/context analysis, conceptual models, theories of change), monitoring and evaluation;
    • Good management and coordination skills as well as experience in technical project implementation;
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to network and to develop and maintain strong relationships with field staff;
    • Possession of strong organizational, reporting and analytical skills;
    • Setting high goals for personal and group accomplishment; using measurement methods to monitor progress towards goal attainment; tenaciously working to meet or exceed those goals;
    • A working knowledge of financial management, especially of projects;
      Knowledge in use of data management and analysis software e.g. SPSS, EpInfo, STATA
    • Adaptable, flexible, able to take initiative and prioritize among competing demands;
    • Experience and skills in training and transfer of knowledge;
    • Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areasof Kenya;

    Programme Manager

    Responsibilities of the Programme Manager

    • Participates in the development of WWF Kenya conservation strategy and programmes;
    • Ensures successful implementation of the Species Conservation Programme and activities in line with WWF Kenya’s Strategic Plan, and action plans;
    • Provides programmatic support and technical advice to project teams and field staff ;
    • Ensure the Programme has a national focus, which incorporates relevant sectors and stakeholders with potential to attract multi-donor (basket) and multi-year funding;
    • Facilitate site based Conservation costs and benefits sharing by local communities;
    • Leads in the assessments and reporting of progress against strategic goals;
    • Directly supports and contributes to WWF performance monitoring systems;
    • Prepares and presents periodic technical reports on the progress of implementation;
    • Identifies and pursues strategic collaborations and partnerships;
    • Initiates and/or develops strategic conservation and research alliances between WWF Kenya, WWF Network and other actors;
    • Promotes cross programmes and projects linkages and synergy;
    • Participates in knowledge management;
    • Champions the domestication of relevant national, regional and international policy
    • Facilitates cross-border species conservation initiatives;
    • Develops bankable conservation proposals as part of the wider resource mobilization strategy;
    • Develops a cost-effective budget, schedule and tracks programme finances;
    • Supervises all species programme staff including field staff.

    Qualifications of the Programme Manager

    • At least a masters university degree in Natural Resource/Environmental
    • Management, Project Management, Biology, Ecology, Zoology, Botany or related field;
    • At least 7 years’ experience in a similar position;
    • Technical proficiency in conservation and integrated natural resource management;
    • Strong communication skills (good team leader/player with strong interpersonal skills);
    • Program development and management skills;
    • Negotiation and contract management skills;
    • Financial management skills;
    • Policy formulation and review skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, plan and implement strategic initiatives.

    Operations Manager

    Key Duties Of The Operations Manager

    • Guide the organizational change process and deliver continual improvements in key operational areas, elevating WWF-Kenya’s profile as a leading Kenyan ‘partner of choice’.
    • Exercise leadership on bringing holistic organizational growth and effectiveness of operations as in integral member of the WWF-Kenya Senior Management Team.
    • Provide strategic thought and leadership on developing and overseeing the implementation of financial sustainability and business planning.
    • Develop and ensure implementation of the Information and Communications Technology strategy to deliver outstanding day to day service to the organization.
    • Provide strategic input in engagement of the WWF-Kenya Board.

    Qualifications of the Operations Manager

    • Master’s degree in Business field such as accounting, finance, strategic management; CPA (K) / ACCA and a member of a professional body in good standing;
    • Diploma in Procurement or supplies Chain management is an added advantage
    • Track record of 10+ years in a senior role successfully developing, leading, and managing large-scale programmes and/or organizations in the field of conservation, natural resource management, international development, and/or other related fields.
    • The successful candidate will possess excellent team building, organizational, analytical, and communications skills. He or she will beperformance driven with the ability to motivate and develop human
      potential.
    • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, contracts and legal compliance.
    • Skills mix should include organizational development, human resource management, budget and resource development, strategic planning, and familiarity with information technology.
