    Manager, Shared Learning and Performance


    Main responsibilities:

    • Manage shared learning and knowledge development approaches within and among Practices to improve the performance of the WWF Network in delivering results that contribute to the Global Goals
    • Develop and facilitate a continuous process of shared learning within and among Practices in order to refine strategies and improve organizational performance.
    • Develop and facilitate ways in which Practices can use qualitative and quantitative measures/metrics to assess and refine their strategies on an ongoing basis
    • Act as bridge between the Practices and the Integrated Performance Unit in ensuring that the right indicators are identified and measured to judge progress and success.
    • Support Practices in developing and producing consistent reports to NET and the WWF Network that are meaningful, yet not burdensome for core teams
    • Assess, develop and recommend approaches and tools to use in knowledge management and learning to accelerate the uptake of Practice priorities, approaches and key lessons by WWF Offices
    • Develops cooperation with other partner organizations with common interests in learning and knowledge management towards the Global Goals, driving efficiency and avoiding duplication
    • Support and Co-ordinate Practice core team knowledge management staff to ensure effective working together, efficiency of action, and shared learning at Network level
    • Supports the assessments of results and overall impact of the Global Conservation Programme (carried-out by the Integrated Performance Unit), ensuring that an integrated approach across Practices is used

    Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

    • An university degree in a subject relevant to WWF or to education, learning and knowledge management
    • At least 7 years’ experience in education, learning and knowledge management in an international setting
    • Familiarity with working in an NGO and/or Network organization, preferably with experience of conservation, environment or development issues.
    • Experience of working with knowledge management and sharing platforms and tools
    • Experience of working in an international and/or inter-cultural environment
    • Analytical thinker, with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
    • Strong communications skills;
    • Strong interpersonal skills, a networker who is good at building individual and team relationships 
    • Ability to work in virtual teams and workspaces
    • Computer literate (including IT systems and tools for learning and knowledge management), 
    • Reliable, flexible and with a problem solving attitude
    • Fluent in English, with excellent writing skills; other languages an advantage; 
    • Adheres to WWF’s values, which are: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging.

    Manager, Conservation Strategy and Innovation


    Main responsibilities:


    • Facilitates interconnected Practice Strategy development, facilitates connections to leading science and manages the innovation approach(es) across Practices and the Network.
    • Develops a robust and consistent approach to developing, reviewing and updating Practice Strategies that utilises systems thinking approaches, is light and agile, and optimises adaptive and shared learning aspects
    • Supports Practice Leaders in the development, evaluation and review of Practice Strategies using such methodology(-ies)
    • Facilitates access to leading (external) science networks and researchers, in co-ordination with WWF Science Functions, in order to strengthen the credibility of Practice strategies, major initiatives, and messaging.
    • Develops and co-ordinates a knowledge centre and network of specialists on strategy development and science that can support country level and (eco-)regional level strategy development and programmes that contribute to Practice Goals and Outcomes
    • Facilitates and coordinates a consistent and effective way of promoting innovation in programme and projects across Network Offices within and across the nine Practices.
    • Co-ordinates and facilitates shared learning among Innovation Specialist in Practices and Country Offices
    • Co-ordinates common, cross-Practice innovation platforms
    • Project Manages global research projects as the need arises and in co-ordination with WWF science functions


    Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

    • Advanced university degree in Biological sciences, Natural Resources, Environment, or related discipline
    • 7 years’ experience in strategy or programme development, preferably in relation to environmental or conservation projects
    • Experience of working with innovation platforms or processes and shared learning approaches
    • Experience of working in an international and/or inter-cultural environment
    • Familiarity with working in virtual teams across multiple time zones
    • Strong strategic, scientific and analytical mind-set,
    • Team player who works collectively to achieve a common objective
    • Excellent communication skills, including excellent spoken and written English.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, a networker who is good at building relationships.
    • Solutions-oriented with effective problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage a multiple projects against tough deadlines
    • Adheres to WWF’s values, which are: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging.
