    Senior Business Development Manager, Consumer Finance

     

    The Role: We are looking for an entrepreneurial sales and marketing leader to join our fast-growing global sales team. The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding Greenlight’s reach in Sub-Saharan African through large, strategic partnerships with financial services businesses. Key responsibilities for the role include prospecting, closing, and launching partnerships with banks, MFIs and consumer finance organizations to drive substantial growth of its portfolio.

    Responsibilities for the role include:

    • Identifying and engaging suitable bank, microfinance and consumer finance channel partners
    • Understanding the nuanced operations and priorities of various banks, MFIs and consumer finance channels to effectively pitch the value of adding a business line centered around Greenlight’s range of Sun King solar home energy solutions to their core businesses.
    • Managing opportunities through prospecting and closing stages including: designing relevant partnership models to align with channel partners’ strategic priorities, crafting commercial and operational service models to enable scale and establishing new internal processes to serve consumer finance channels.
    • Transitioning newly established partnerships to Greenlight’s Account Management and Operations teams for ongoing sales and service.
    • Meeting aggressive sales and revenue targets

    The ideal Sun King™ Senior Business Development Manager:

    • Has a college degree and at least 4-7 years of experience in commercial research, business development, lead generation and relationship management, preferably in a microfinance/ venture capital/ private equity/ private debt setting in sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Can understand the nuances of various channels’ operating models and create customized sales and service models.
    • Is a strong people-person, one that thrives off of the energy of navigating complex organizations and building relationships both within the organization and externally.
    • Can tell a great story, communicates clearly and can capture the interest and attention of 2, 20 or 200 people naturally.
    • Has a strong a record of meeting revenue targets and experience growing new business lines
    • Is entrepreneurial and excited about the opportunity to creatively build effective, non-traditional sales channels in a nascent product category

    Lead Videographer – Marketing

    The main purpose of the Job will be to carry out main tasks across several creative disciplines for the brand Sun King. The Lead Videographer- Marketing will:

    • Lead videography, editing & production to tell stories globally about Sun King and our customers.
    • Support the creative director and marketing team in coming up with campaign ideas.

    Additionally, the Lead Videographer- Marketing will carry out secondary tasks depending on individual skillset & team needs including:

    • Photography of products in studio and in the field
    • Motion graphics for promotional campaigns

    The ideal candidate for this position:

    • Is an inspirational creative with excellent storyboarding, shooting, editing and production skills.
    • Is an expert on cameras, accessories, lighting, and sound equipment
    • Is an expert in Adobe Premiere/ After Effects/ Final Cut Pro.
    • Is proficient in one or more of Adobe Photoshop/ Illustrator/ InDesign
    • Has knowledge of animation, copywriting or graphic design knowledge (highly desirable)
    • Has a top class portfolio of work samples and demos that show a wide variety of projects with interesting ideas and stunning visuals.
    • Pays attention to detail & is deadline-focused, willing to go above & beyond what’s asked of them.
    • Is a team player who isn’t afraid to express their ideas and thrives working with a creative director or independently with little supervision
    • Has experience working within a creative/ ad agency or production studio, including in print, digital & social media campaigns

    Business Development Manager

     

    The Role: The Business Development Manager, West and Central Africa will be responsible for managing and expanding the overall book of business for Greenlight Planet’s Sun King line of solar home lighting solutions in Francophone West and Central Africa.

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Developing new distribution channels
    • Driving growth of existing channels
    • Developing and executing marketing campaigns to ensure massive penetration of Greenlight Planet’s products in the region.

    The ideal candidate:

    • Has a college degree and at least 5-7 years of sales and business development experience in West Africa working with product distribution catering to mass market consumers
    • Has a strong record of meeting revenue targets and experience growing new business lines
    • Is entrepreneurial and excited about the opportunity to creatively build effective, non-traditional sales channels in a nascent product category
    • Is fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
    • Is passionate about his/her work and driven by Greenlight’s social mission of bringing innovative, renewable energy and life-enhancing products to West and Central African markets
    • Is comfortable working independently and remotely in a lean environment
    • Likes getting hands on to figure out how to grow a high-potential business
    • Is a natural people-person, one that thrives off of building strong relationships both within the organization and externally
    • Is willing to spend 40-50% of his/her time on the road interacting with country-level distribution partners, resellers, customers and partners

    Associate Business Development

     

    The Role

    The role is focused on expanding Greenlight Planet’s financial services business partnerships that serve rural markets in Africa, through research, reach-out and follow-up meetings. The candidate will work with the Global Partnerships team with a database of potential financial services partners in Africa that comprise existing, dormant and new business partners. It will require one’s involvement in all aspects of end-to-end business development process including research to build the database further, warm calling to CEOs/Directors of prospective organizations, reaching out through LinkedIn, follow up through mails & calls, in-person meetings and facilitating partner contract closures.

    Key responsibilities for the role include

    • Recruitment of staff across a range of professional levels from associates to senior team leaders within defined Service Level Agreements and budgets.
    • Engage suitable financial services companies with rural distribution network as eventual partners
    • Make warm calls to CEOs/Directors of these companies, followed by in-person meetings, to introduce Greenlight Planet and Sun King products
    • Help Operations team finalize operational model customized to the financial services partner
    • Follow up with prospects through call and e-mails to capture the progress status
    • Upkeep of the business development database, ensuring a high level of accuracy
    • Design and organize conferences, events & workshops to engage with pipeline partners
    • Assist in facilitation of partnership contract closures

    The ideal candidate

    Additionally, the Graphic Designer will carry out secondary tasks depending on individual skillset & team needs including:

    • Taking and editing of photos from the studio and field.
    • Support the creative director and marketing team in coming up with campaign ideas.

    The ideal candidate for this position:

    • Is an inspirational and creative designer with excellent imagination and practical skills.
    • Is passionate about typography, layout and brand identity.
    • Is an expert in Adobe Photoshop/ Illustrator/ InDesign.
    • Has photography/video, motion graphics, illustration or copywriting knowledge. This is highly desirable but not essential.
    • Has a top class portfolio of work samples that show a wide variety of projects and wants to learn from the team around them.
    • Has attention to detail & is deadline-focused, willing to go above & beyond what is asked of them.
    • Is a team player who is not afraid to express ideas and thrives working with senior designers or independently with little supervision.
    • Has experience within a creative/ ad agency or design studio including in print, digital & social media campaigns. This is an added advantage.
