    Finance Manager

    Job Details

    1. Introduction

    The KCCB – General Secretariat is the National Administrative, facilitative and Coordinative arm through which the KCCB implements and co-ordinates various Pastoral programs at the National level and undertakes all those responsibilities which express the mission of the Catholic Church in Kenya.

    Finance Manager

    Duties  

    • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
    • Consolidate and / or review monthly financial and management reports from all the commissions, Income statements and Cash flow statements
    • Approve expenditures within the budgets and provide financial oversight to commissions and departments
    • Ensure effective management of finance office – Bank Correspondences, Donor Correspondences, Sorting out Commission issues and training
    • Process monthly Payroll in accordance with financial procedures and policies
    • Formulate and implement finance strategy for KCCB- General Secretariat
    • Consolidation of budgets
    • Supervision of Restricted and unrestricted budgets
    • Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
    • Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
    • Establishes system controls for financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
    • Performs related work as required and carries out any other essential tasks related to the General Secretariat’s goals that may reasonably be assigned

    Qualifications

    • MBA (Finance)
    • CPA (K) or ACCA final
    • Member of ICPAK
    • Excellent MS Excel and Ms Word Proven problem solver with the ability to work in a diverse team environment.

    Accountant Assistant

    2. ACCOUNTANT ASSISTANT

    3. Duties

    • To ensure all functions and programs under charge are performed within established budgetary parameters, to include performing cost control activities, monitoring revenues and expenditures, and ensuring sound fiscal control;
    • To prepare fiscal documentation regarding accounting activities, e.g., weekly, monthly and annual reports,
    • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts for all funds,
    • To plan, manage, coordinate, and implement the year end closing processes and procedures for the assigned accounting records; conducts year-end closing process; provides information to financial auditors; conducts standard internal audits of various accounting records;
    • To ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting standards and principles; ensures maintenance of proper audit trails and verification and reconciliation actions for all processed work,
    • To evaluate receipts, expenditure forms, purchase orders, distributions, and disbursement orders for the purpose of ensuring compliance with policies,
    • To perform verification and reconciliation tasks for invoices/ receipts/ balances according to department checks and balances procedures,
    • Ensure proper set up and running of accounting systems,
    • Compilation and combination of financial reports,
    • Preparation of the audit files,

    4. QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in relevant area
    • Has a minimum of CPA K  professional qualification;
    • Excellent MS Excel and Ms Word
    • Proven problem solver with the ability to work in a diverse team environment.

    Driver / Messenger

    • Ensuring that the motor vehicle is  well maintained and always in a serviced condition,

    3. QUALIFICATIONS

    • KCSE level of education or equivalent
    • Clean valid driving licenses
    • 4 years satisfactory motor vehicle driving experience
    • Basic vehicle maintenance skills;
    • Good communication skills in both English and Kiswahili;
    • Knowledge of Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).

    Project Officer

    Job Details

    1. Introduction

    CATHOLIC HEALTH COMMISSION OF KENYA – KCCB  PROJECT  OFFICER

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate and mobilize Catholic health facilities for educational activities for health care providers at health facilities in collaboration with the project partners.
    • Coordinate identification and trainings of health workers
    • Support activities of patient support groups.
    • Facilitate distribution of IEC materials and data collection tools.
    • Coordinate and facilitate identification of community based organizations within project areas.
    • Coordinate mobilization and training of Community Health Volunteers.
    • Promoting networking and referral for care and management.
    • Coordinate community outreach activities and reporting for the same.
    • Identify additional facilities for inclusion in the project.
    • In consultation with the National Executive Secretary and Project Manager, undertake sensitization of Hospital Boards and Health Facility Committees on the project objectives.
    • In consultation with the National Executive Secretary and the project Manager, coordinate regular forums for experiences sharing and networking.
    • Undertake supportive supervision and monitoring and evaluation in participating facilities in collaboration with the relevant County health teams and diocesan health coordinators to ensure implementation of project activities and adherence to project guidelines.
    • Prepare monthly reports on project implementation and recommendations.
    • Participate in the monthly and other Project steering committee

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

    • Bachelors Degree level training in Nursing or Clinical Medicine; or Bachelor’s Degree training in a Public Health related field
    • Post qualification training in Public Health, Health Systems Management.
    • Minimum three years public health project management experience
    • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge through formal and informal training.
    • Proven interpersonal, leadership, training and mentoring skills.
    • Proven effective representation skills to varied stakeholders.
    • Experience in building the capacity of a team through both supervisory and non-supervisory relationships.
    • Willingness to travel 50% of the time within Kenya, often under difficult circumstances

    Data Clerk

    2. CATHOLIC HEALTH COMMISSION OF KENYA – KCCB DATA CLERK

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collection of all TB data forms returned by project officers from the field or received from the field via courier services. Thereafter creation of payment summaries based on the payment schedules signed by CHVs in the field.
    • Verification of the data forms for completeness and authenticity before entry.
    • Entry of data into the Grants Management Information System (GMIS)
    • Generation of required reports from GMIS
    • Creation and maintenance of a database of all the Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) and Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs)
    • Maintenance of a comprehensive list of all relevant contacts of project implementation
    • Collection and compilation of all documentation for all activities already carried out by project officers in preparation of the monthly report
    • Assisting the project officers in preparation and submission of the monthly report.

    3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • At least a Diploma from a recognized academic institution
    • Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in a demanding professional environment desired particularly in data entry preferable
    • Demonstrated proficiency in computer use
