    Interns


    (3 months, KES 650 per day worked, starting dates are flexible)

    Research Solutions Africa offers internships to students in their final year and to recent graduates. Internships last a maximum of three months and are available to students of a wide range of disciplines. Intake of interns is on an ongoing basis. Interns report to their assigned project leads and to the Research Director.
    Internships at Research Solutions Africa provide successful candidates with the opportunity to develop business and client service skills with access to a wide range of industries.     Our minimum requirements for intake are:

    • You are a registered student of an East African University or a recent graduate (12 months) without previous full-time job experience. This is a requirement by the Employment Act. Applications omitting previous work experience or otherwise misstating facts to meet the qualification criteria are fraudulent.
    • You study towards (or have just completed) a Bachelor or Masters degree.
    • You are very good with numbers. You have excellent written and spoken English. Your general knowledge covers a wide range of topics. Your communication skills are evident from your application.

    Data Processing Executive (DPE)

    (Gross KES 45,000 - 75,000 per month depending on level of experience, starts ASAP)

    Our Data Processing Team is looking for reinforcement. The tasks for the DPE include supervising data entry and analysis teams, reviewing questionnaires to ensure their data-friendliness, scripting questionnaires for data collection, diligent daily monitoring and cleaning of incoming data, daily feedback to the field teams, diligent structuring of the data to client specifications, insightful analysis of the data collected, responding to follow-up questions from the Data Processing Manager, clients and internal team members. The DPE reports to the DPM.
    Successful candidates are diligent, structured and reliable in all aspects of their work. They are able to identify solid solutions to arising problems and have demonstrated a high willingness to learn.

    Minimum requirements are:

         • A BSc and 2 years work experience in a strongly quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, statistics, engineering, chemistry …).
         • Documented experience in handling, structuring and analyzing large and complex datasets.
         • Documented ability to comply with and improve data handling guides for improved accuracy and efficiency.
         • Highest skill levels in Excel and SPSS. Knowledge of STATA and R, as well as previous experience with data collection software is an added advantage (Dooblo Survey to Go, OD        / KOBO, Tangerine).

    Data Processing Manager (DPM)

    (Gross KES 95,000 - 130,000 per month depending on level of experience, starts ASAP)

    Our Data Processing Team is looking for a new leader. The DPM is the first point of contact for our Client Service and Field Departments, as well as our demanding clients on all data related issues. The DPM reports to the Research Director.
    The DPM and his team work with our project teams through the lifetime of each project. This includes reviewing questionnaires to ensure their data-friendliness, scripting questionnaires for data collection, diligent daily monitoring and cleaning of incoming data, daily feedback to the field teams, diligent structuring of the data to client specifications, insightful analysis of the data collected, responding to follow-up questions from clients and internal team members.
    The DPM is also responsible for the continuous improvement of our data handling processes, the quality control protocols, the integration of DP activities with the other departments and the identification and integration of new technologies into our Data Processing activities. Finally, the DPM periodically reviews the performance of DP team members.

    Minimum requirements are as follows:

        • Either a BSc and 7 years’ experience or a MSc and 5 years’ experience in a strongly quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, statistics, engineering,…).
        • Documented experience in handling, structuring and analyzing large and complex datasets.
        • Documented ability to develop data handling guides for improved accuracy and efficiency.
        • Documented experience of at least 2 years in managing people, processes and projects.
        • Highest skill levels in Excel and SPSS. Knowledge of STATA and R, as well as previous experience with data collection software is an added advantage (Dooblo Survey to Go,         ODK / KOBO, Tangerine).
