    Communication Assistant - New Media

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Reporting to the Senior Communication Officer, Communication Assistant – New Media will be responsible for:


    • Draft social media outreach messages.
    • Deliver PR content via LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, email, or direct mail.
    • Assist in formulating and delivery of email campaigns.
    • Execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
    • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
    • Optimise CoG pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the organisations social content
    • Continuously improve by capturing and analysing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information

    Required qualifications and experience

    • The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Communication/ Public relations or journalism.
    • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
    • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development and SEO
    • Two years’ work experience.
    • Advance computer applications
    • Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010

    Communication Assistant - Media


    Duties and Responsibilities
    Reporting to the Senior Communication Officer, Communication Assistant – Media will be responsible for:


    • Building and maintaining good image of the Council of Governors (CoG) and the media.
    • Planning and executing external communication including a proactive media relations strategy.
    • Creation and delivery of press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, press kit assembly and distribution and speaking proposals.
    • Coordinating any COG outreach program.
    • Issue press releases; react to media stories and proactive media reporting through the available channels.
    • Coordinating with the various local and national media houses for interview & publicity opportunities for the Council.
    • Assist in convening public relations and media related meetings.

    Required qualifications and experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or journalism.
    • The candidate should have strong social media, writing, research and organization skills,
    • The ideal candidate should have practiced as a journalist with at least two years’ experience in Communication/ Public Relations.

    Fluency in English is required.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Senior Communication Officer, Communication Assistant - Public Relations will be responsible for:


    • Building and maintaining good image of the Council of Governors (CoG).
    • Articulate CoG’s position on various issues to the public.
    • Development and implementation of public relations activities in the CoG.
    • Planning and executing external communication including a proactive media relations strategy, when called upon.
    • Creation and delivery of press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, press kit assembly and distribution and speaking proposals.
    • Co-ordination of CoG events and Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
    • Assist in formulating and delivery of email campaigns.
    • Promote products and services through public relations initiatives
    • Draft social media outreach messages.
    • Deliver PR content via LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, email, or direct mail.

    Required qualifications and experience

    • Have a Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or journalism
    • The candidate should have strong writing, research and organization skills,
    • Advance computer applications
    • Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
    • Two years’ work relevant experience.

    Method of Application

    The contract duration is for three (3) year renewable annually subject to availability of funds.
