Brief Description of Assignment

Orbital Africa is seeking to recruit 47 GIS field data collectors/enumerators and 8 regional coordinators to be working from each of the Kenya’s 47 counties and 8 regions respectively. The candidates should indicate the name of the county where they reside. The work of the enumerators shall involve the use of GIS mobile mapping app (GIS Cloud) installed in the smartphones to precisely map the locations of approximately 7,000 PEPFAR sites and their associated attributes and send it in real-time to the cloud platform. The quality control and quality assurance checks shall also be carried out before it’s relayed to the client – DoS, USA.

Job Requirements

The applicant must have the following:

• A Degree or Diploma in GIS/Geoinformatics/Mapping or Surveying with at least 2 years’ experience.
• Skills in mobile mapping and data collection using GPS enabled smartphones and GIS apps.
• Demonstrate proficiency in web mapping using ArcGIS online, Portal for ArcGIS, Geoserver & MapServer.
• Demonstrate excellent field data collection and mapping skills.
• Must be assertive, innovative with high level of creativity and must be good communicator.
• Astute decision maker and ability to work overtime and under tight time schedules.
• Proficiency in SPSS or any statistical package; MS office suite (especially word, excel and access).
• The candidate MUST possess an android v.6.0 and above enabled smartphone for the exercise.
