    Senior Quality Assurance & Compliance

    Job Reference Number: CLE 5 CLE/HR06/2017

    Overall purpose of the job

    Responsible for administration of the licensing processes and day to day quality assurance activities including inspection of legal education providers.

    Responsibilities for the Senior Quality Assurance & Compliance Job

    • Administer applications for licensing legal education providers;
    • Monitor the adherence to standards and set curricula by legal education providers;
    • Receive and review applications for recognition of foreign qualifications in Law;
    • Coordinate and develop a comprehensive and updated database of licensed legal education providers;
    • Participate in training and standards setting for legal education providers;
    • Maintaining a databank of Peer Reviewers.
    • Advising clients on quality audit and compliance processes;
    • Following up on clients to confirm progress on implementation of audit and compliance recommendations
    • Preparing technical/routine inspection reports and editing reports and working papers;
    • Examining proposals for completeness and overall agreement with the regulations, standards and guidelines;
    • Providing progress reports to clients on the evaluation status of their proposals;
    • Preparing licensing tools/instruments and registers;
    • Perform any other duty from time to time as may be assigned by Manager standards, Compliance, Accreditation and Quality Assurance

    Qualifications for the Senior Quality Assurance & Compliance Job

    • Masters Degree in Law;
    • Professional qualification and demonstrable knowledge in Standards setting and licensing work;
    • At least 5 years relevant working experience and demonstrable managerial exposure in a similar environment;
    • Experience in conducting research;
    • Good report writing skills and high level interpersonal skills;
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision and adhere to set timelines;
    • Team player, self-driven and focused;
    • Be of the highest ethical standards, integrity and professionalism and comply with the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.

    Salary Scale

    Basic Salary: 137,984 x 12,616 – 150,600 x 12,616 – 163,215 x 12,616 -175,831 x 12,616 -188,446 x 12,616 -201,062 per month

    House Allowance: Kshs. 40,000

    Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 12,000

    Corporate Communications

    Job Reference Number: CLE 5 CLE/HR07/2017

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Corporate Communication Officer, will be responsible for ensuring that Council achieves its business objectives internally and externally, building the Council’s impact and reputation and ensuring its future success.

    Responsibilities for the Corporate Communications Job

    • Initiating, managing and delivering a corporate communications strategy to develop the Council’s reputation, brand and relationships, ensuring that there is a clear identity and goodwill and understanding amongst the various stakeholder groups and public.
    • Developing and ensuring the strategic management of stakeholder relationships and strategies covering the Government, Parliament, professional bodies, all stakeholders, public and the media.
    • Providing a strategic advisory communications function to the Chief Executive Officer, members of Board and
    • Management supporting them in their roles as ambassadors for the Council.
    • Accountable for reputation management for the Council; identifying and prioritizing emerging issues and handling in a timely manner.
    • Cultivating a network of strong and lasting partnerships with stakeholders in all the relevant sectors and ensure continuing support to the Councils’ mission and strategic objectives
    • Responding to a wide range of consultations and reports within the context of the policy of the Council, its aims and objectives
    • Establishing effective communication relationships (internal and external)
    • Formulating and implementing communications policy with other related key organisations
    • Responding to enquiries from the public, media and other organisations
    • Arranging interviews with journalists, prepare and distribute media releases, and liaise with and make statements to the media
    • Writing, editing and arranging production of newsletters, in-house magazines, pamphlets and brochures
    • Writing speeches, preparing visual aids and making public presentations and organizing special events such as open days, visits, exhibitions and functions

    Qualifications for the Corporate Communications Job

    • Masters degree in communications, journalism, public relations or other relevant field from recognized institution(s).
    • Postgraduate diploma in journalism, public relations; or any other relevant field will be an added advantage.
    • Five (5) years relevant work experience, two (2) years of which must have been at a position in corporate communications, public relations or journalism in a large organisation.
    • Proven writing skills.
    • Excellent command of English language and writing skills.
    • Be highly analytical, assertive and a team player.
    • Be of the highest ethical standards, integrity and professionalism and comply with the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.

    Salary Scale

    BASIC PAY: 137,984 x 12,616 – 150,600 x 12,616 – 163,215 x 12,616 -175,831 x 12,616 -188,446 x 12,616 -201,062 per month
    HOUSE ALLOWANCE: Kshs. 40,000
    COMMUTTER ALLOWANCE: Kshs. 12,000
