    Chief Manager, Consultancy & Partnerships (CM-CP)

    JOB CODE: UNES/CONS/CMCP/05/17

    Job Summary

     The role of the CM-CP is to develop and manage a successful Consultancy Business Unit by planning, executing and timely delivery of Consultancy Assignments, Professional Training and Commercializing Intellectual Capabilities resident in the University. He or She will provide objective advice; develop Business Networks, co-ordinate Experts and Specialists with the aim of creating value, maximizing growth and improving overall business performance of the unit.

    Duties and responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities will include:

    1. Providing Strategic direction for the Consultancy Strategic Business Unit
    2. Sourcing for New Consultancy Projects
    3. Identification, sourcing and coordination of resource persons for Consultancies and Trainings
    4. Identification and Marketing of Professional  Short Course  trainings
    5. Development of Consultancy Business Proposals and Presentations to Clients
    6. Growing Consultancy Networks, Partnerships and other Growth Opportunities
    7. Ensuring compliance with Statutory and Regulatory Requirements
    8. Ensuring compliance with the MOUs and Contracts by both the Clients and Consultants
    9. Instituting sound systems and controls in the Consultancy Unit

     Job Specification:

    1. Masters Degree, preferably in  Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Project Management or Equivalent
    2. At least five (5) years hands on experience in leading and managing consultancy assignments
    3. Proven experience in Government and Development Partners Proposal Guidelines
    4. Experience with Donor/ Development Partners funded Projects
    5. Proven record of Proposals Writing/Research and Project Management
    6. Ability to develop Budgets and Financial Proposals
    7. Good analytical and interpersonal skills
    8. Hands on Experience in monitoring and evaluation of Projects

    Kitchen Supervisor

    Job Code- UNES/ARZ/KS/05/2017

    Duties and responsibilities  

    The duties and responsibilities will include:

    1.  Provide Assistance to  Food & Beverage (F&B) Management in all Menu preparations, Kitchen rules, service standards, cleanliness and inventory control for F&B.
    2. Ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained in the restaurant
    3. Implementation of quality management systems procedures and file all records and documents.
    4. High quality food production that meet stringent standards and consistently maintained
    5. To ensure that high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained
    6. To ensure that stocks used for production are accurately accounted for.
    7. Work closely with the Supervisors to plan menus that would attract and retain customers
    8. To ensure efficient service delivery is maintained in the kitchen
    9. To ensure food variety is provided and it meets every customer’s expectation and specification.
    10. To ensure that kitchen equipment and crockery is properly maintained.
    11. To plan, direct and supervise the activities of all kitchen staff
    12. To develop and demonstrate proper use of standard recipes
    13. Analyzing cost margins and  control costs of production
    14. Identify training needs of cooks and other kitchen staff
    15. Ensure world – class customer service is provided
    16. Any other duty assigned by the Supervisor

    Job Specification:

    1. Diploma in Food Production or Hotel Management from a recognized institution
    2. Minimum three (3) years work experience as a Kitchen Supervisor or equivalent in a busy 3 to 4 star restaurant
    3. Ability to guide and supervise staff
    4. Must be conversant with food and beverage cost control and accountability
    5. Ability to generate daily kitchen reports
    6. Other certificates relevant to the job i.e. kitchen supervision will be an added advantage Computer literate
    7. KCSE Certificate
    8. Innovative and quality conscious
    9. Good food presentation skills
    10. Ability to work under pressure & long hours

    Food and Beverage Supervisor

    JOB CODE: UNES/ARZ/F&B/05/2017

    Duties and responsibilities   

    The duties and responsibilities will include

    1. Coordinate the Restaurant, Conferencing and Catering activities.
    2. Supervise all Food and Beverage staff to ensure professional and quality service is provided
    3. Maintain Restaurant inventory, cleanliness, food rotation and menu consistency
    4. Maintain all policies and procedures.
    5. Assists in execution of administrative functions such as reporting, forecasting, quality assurance and departmental meetings.
    6. Ensure set performance targets for food and beverage staff are met and carry out performance appraisal.
    7. Follow up to ensure restaurant licenses are up-to-date and properly displayed.
    8. Identify staff training needs.
    9. Ensure maintenance of the desired customer satisfaction levels.
    10. Dealing with customer complaints.
    11. Monitor and ensure adherence to restaurants machinery and equipment maintenance schedules.
    12. Ensure proper handling and accountability of food and beverage equipment.
    13. Work with Kitchen Supervisor to ensure high quality food is produced and is as per customer requirements, expectations and presentation.
    14. Provide assistance to the F&B Management in all menu preparations, kitchen rules,
    15. service standards, cleanliness and inventory controls for F&B.
    16. Ensure high standards of hygiene and safety is maintained in the restaurant.

     Job Specification:

    1. Degree in Hospitality or equivalent or a Degree in Business management plus a Diploma in Food and Beverage management or equivalent from a recognized institution.
    2. KCSE C+(plus) or equivalent
    3. Minimum Three (3) years work experience as a Food and Beverage Supervisor or equivalent position in a busy 3 to 5 stars Restaurant
    4. Strong leadership ability
    5. Good organizational skills
    6. Excellent written and oral communication skills
    7. Positive interpersonal skills required
    8. Computer Literacy
    9. Strong customer service skills
    10. Ability to guide and supervise staff
    11. Must be conversant with food and beverage cost control and  accountability
    12. Innovation and quality conscious
    13. Good food presentation skills
    14. Ability to work under pressure & long hours
