    Warehouse Operations Team Leader

     

    The jobholder plans, organises, directs, manages & evaluates activities responsible for inventory & logistical components in the organisation.

    Duties

    • Plan, organize, supervise and participate in daily warehouse operation and activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety and distribution of equipment and supplies and maintenance of inventory.
    • Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned warehouse employees; assign workloads to warehouse workers.
    • Receive, unpack, pack, load, issue, store and deliver materials; complete packing slips for shipments as assigned.
    • Route, schedule, pack and prepare orders for delivery; load vehicles; schedule and oversee deliveries and pick-ups.
    • Supervise the processing of requisitions and requests to invoice for reimbursements of warehouse materials; complete requisitions for needed materials to assure adequate stock levels.
    • Prepare and maintain a variety of records and logs and prepare reports as required; maintain inventory of items in the warehouse; file records as required; supervise the assembly of inventory printouts and catalogues as required.
    • Operate a computer to enter data, correct errors and control key screens as required.
    • Operate and demonstrate use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment.
    • Observe health and safety regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
    • Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures; advise of budget-related needs
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Key Outputs

    • Ensure full delivery of sellable quality goods to customers within 48hrs.
    • Approve credit notes to enable full processing within one working day.
    • Weekly & Monthly customer service report ready every Friday and 4th of every month. Claim for damaged goods from transporters and insurers monthly.
    • Finished goods and raw materials are received and dispatched in accordance with set procedures at all times.
    • Stock accuracy by ensuring Zero stock variances between physical and system figures.
    • Zero stock variances between physical and system figures.
    • 100% compliance to cGMP, FEFO and FIFO.
    • Formal half yearly staff appraisals for direct reports

    Requirements

    • A minimum of a Degree or higher diploma is usually required. A combination of related training and considerable experience may be considered an equivalent.
    • At least 3 years work experience in a sales, warehousing, distribution, order processing or logistics.
    • Valid material handling equipment licence. i.e. forklift and or stacker
    • Valid driving license BCE.

    Dispatch Officer

    Our client would like to fill the position of a Dispatch Officer who will be reporting to the Warehouse Manager.
    The jobholder is mandated with order pick, dispatch record, goods with the associated documentation & equipment.

    Duties

    • Ensuring that SBP Orders agree before forwarding to operators for picking
    • Confirm that all items have been picked and picking lists given back for shipment
    • Ensure proper documentation by filing, retention and traceability of dispatch documents.
    • Manage housekeeping in the warehouse by ensuring the good housekeeping practices philosophy is followed and adhered to.
    • Coordinate all the related warehouse activities e.g. picking, assembly/marshalling
    • Ensure that picked items have been properly sealed and correctly labelled and all of them have been loaded in the dispatch vehicles.
    • Prepare documentation for dispatch i.e.
      consignment notes and ensure that all of them have been assigned correctly
    • Keeping a record of specific job allocation to the picking teams for ease of reference and follow up on errors from customers.
    • Preparation of the dispatch reports keying in what has been dispatched

    Key Outputs

    • Accurately pick goods as per delivery note and take to loading bay within 30 mins.
    • Receipt of original D/Notes from the customers within 48hours.
    • Timely loading of goods for dispatch to customers.
    • Nil stock variances
    • Weekly/Monthly reports and action to be or taken.
    • 100% GMP, FEFO and FIFO compliance.

    Requirements

    • A Diploma in Stores and Distribution Management is highly desirable.
    • Valid material handling equipment licence. i.e. forklift and or stacker • Valid driving license BCE
    • A minimum of a Degree or higher diploma is usually required.
    • A combination of related training and considerable experience may be considered an equivalent.
    • At least 3 years work experience in warehousing.
