  • China Global Television Network, or CGTN, is China’s new international media organization. It was launched by the national broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) on December 31, 2016. Headquartered at the landmark CCTV building in Beijing, CGTN brings together an international professional team, with production centers in Washington and Nairobi, and a European production center on the way.     Talk Show Producer

     

    Job description

    Responsibilities And Duties

    • Produce a live and compelling talk show
    • Editing for TV and digital/social media
    • Direct and coordinate hosts and production team during live shoots
    • Summarize information into easy-to-understand components
    • Conceive, book and execute program segments and live features

    Educational Background And Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree and in communication, TV production, international relations, African studies and other related areas
    • At least two years’ experience in TV/ Talk Show production
    • Ability to execute both studio and field production functions
    • Creative presentation style, and ability to showcase all resources and elements
    • Proficiency with editing software
    • Great passion for TV and exchanges of ideas

    Skills/ Qualifications Required

    • Must be completely fluent in written and spoken English

    Talk Show Planner

    Responsibilities And Duties

    • Planning both short and long-term coverage topics about Africa
    • Knowledgeable about African countries and their relations with the world
    • Able to write interview summaries and plan for Question and Answer flows during interviews
    • Good at research and sorting out valuable news from various sources or information, pre-interviews, and coordinating logistics for field production
    • Responsible for locating and managing internal and external videos and assets
    • Work closely with assignment desks to ensure the best and latest video is acquired, used and credited properly
    • Work closely with editors during post production, providing media, anticipating and responding to requests, organizing footage and tracking sources of material for licensing
    • Good contacts base and ability to source guests

    Educational Background and Experience

    • Masters degrees and above in communication, international relations, African studies and other related areas are preferred
    • At least 3 years‘ experience in media or other related professions

    New Media Reporter

     

    Job description

    We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and professional individual to fill the position of New Media Reporter. If successful, you join a team striving to make connections with an Africa-wide audience, telling stories of the African continent from a new perspective.

    The new media reporter is responsible for producing engaging, SEO-friendly content and generating news-making and analytical content for CGTN Africa’s digital platforms. He/she will initiate news stories and cover both breaking and pre-planned news.

    • Create, curate, edit, develop, and help to produce content while engaging users across all digital platforms

    A Video Editor brings sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
    • Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
    • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the footage
    • Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
