    Murang'a University of Technology is the Successor of Murang'a University College, a former constituent College of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and Murang'a College of Technology based in Muranga County.

    Transport Officer

     

    Grade 9/10

    Ref: MUT 7/02/18

    Responsibilities

    The Transport Officer reports to the Registrar Administration and Planning so as to assist in the following:-

    • Preparation of schedules for the fleet and the drivers.
    • Supervision and monitoring staff performance in the section.
    • Requisition of fuel, lubricants, tyres, tubes and other expendable of the fleet.
    • Ensuring that all the vehicles in the fleet meet necessary requirements for their operations, such as insurance, road license, inspection reports, cleanliness etc.
    • Ensuring proper routine servicing and repairs of the University vehicles .
    • Providing regular reports on the operations of the transport services.
    • Advising on the staffing needs of the transport operations section.
    • Effective utilization of University vehicles.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the Registrar Administration and Planning.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor degree or Higher national diploma in mechanical engineering or transport management.
    • At least five (5) years experience at transport officer grade 7/8
    • Valid driving licence

    Additional Requirements

    In addition to the qualifications set above, the shortlisted applicants will be required to bring along the following clearance certificates in accordance with Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution:

    • Kenya Revenue Authority
    • Higher Education Loans Board
    • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
    • Criminal Investigation Department
    • Credit Reference Bureau

    Assistant Clerk of Works

     

    Grade 9/10

    Ref: MUT 9/02/18

    Responsibilities

    Responsible to the Maintenance officer for the performance of the following duties and tasks;

    • In charge of the Building Maintenance, grounds workshops and stores.
    • Maintaining grounds and parks.
    • Coordinating and implanting minor works.
    • Co-ordinating and implementing maintenance of roads and electrical installations.
    • Organizing and managing University workshops and Maintenance stores.

    Requirements

    • Masters degree in Property Management OR Degree in Property Management or its equivalent plus three year work experience
    • National Diploma in construction management
    • Must a member of AAK
    • Must have three(3) years relevant working experience as maintenance superintendent Grade 7/8
    • Must have Knowledge and Competency in Information and Communication
    • Technology (Proficiency in the use of MS Project, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, etc will be an added advantage).
