Purpose

Help scale our platform to meet the needs of our rapidly growing offering as well as build high volume, reliable microservices while demonstrating technical leadership to more junior developers.

Our Tech Stack

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in and contribute to architectural and technical stack choices.
• Recommend and implement technical solutions in a phased approach to introduce new product constructs and microservices to our platform.
• Engage with Product Managers, Architects and business stakeholders to define platform requirements.
• Drive project planning and execution.
• Mentor engineers.

Job Purpose

We’re looking for the world’s most talented Product Owners to join us and help to solve a challenging set of problems in a space packed full of opportunities. Help us power Africa’s future, today. We're building the leading mobile money marketplace for consumers, merchants and mobile network operators. Delivery of the various microservices that make up the JUMO platform as well as the products served over the platform itself.

Responsibilities

• Partner integrations, namely Mobile Network Operators and Financial Service Providers.
• Through analysis with internal and external stakeholders, provide business requirements documentation, then work with agile delivery teams in delivering the required solution.
• Produce Product Specifications utlising research from partner channels, data science and customer intelligence teams.
• Produce Epic and Feature stories for developers, and then carry out UAT and provide operational documentation on delivery.
• When required, travel with project team into various countries to integrate Jumo with partners

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ yrs work experience in a related field.

• Modelling and UX tools, any programming languages.

Key Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related field
• Understanding of basic financial concepts is desirable
• 10+ years of experience in software development with 5 in a leadership position and at least 2 years with a team of 10 or more
• 5+ years in an Agile development environment
• Hands on experience with enterprise class software running significant transactional volumes
• Experience with modern development language: Java, Ruby, Python or C++
• Experience working in Amazon Web Service environments (EC2, Elastic Beanstalk) is highly desirable
