    Accountant

    Co-operative Bank of Kenya  - Our client, a medium sized Savings and credit Co-operative Society with its head-office in Nairobi County and a membership spread across the country, seeks to recruit a suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Accountant shall be responsible for overseeing finance and accounting function in the Society including:

    • Preparation of Society final accounts, Trial Balance, Balance sheets etc.
    • Preparation and presentation of annual revenue and capital budgets;
    • Preparation of Economic reports Analyzing market and competitors trends
    • Developing financial management mechanisms Conducting reviews/evaluations for cost reductions on various vote heads
    • Managing Sacco’s financial accounting and monitoring systems
    • To liaise with internal /External Auditors on audit
    • Controls and act on management letters
    • Producing accurate financial reports
    • Give a cost benefit analysis on external borrowing for Board of Directors approval
    • Management of staff payrolls
    • Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation;
    • Ensuring the Society assets and liabilities are recorded correctly and safeguarded;
    • Ensuring the necessary cash reserve is maintained as required by law;
    • Keeping and managing debtors and creditors records;
    • Implementation and review of the Society’s financial accounting policies and procedures;
    • Giving guidance in all financial and accounting matters;
    • Ensuring adequate budgetary controls are in place;
    • Advising and overseeing prudent financial management and investment;
    • Submitting implementation work plans and ensure proper reporting systems are in place;
    • Approving payments made by the Society;
    • Ensuring that accounts and reconciliation are done on a monthly basis and adherence to specific deadlines; and Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications

    Appointment to the position will be made from persons who:

    • Are holders of a Business related degree or its equivalent from a recognized university and CPA (K) or ACCA and have satisfactorily served as an Accountant in a Society or a comparable position with similar responsibilities in a similar organization for a minimum period of three years.
    • Diploma in Co-operative Management will be an added advantage.
    • Have demonstrated high financial management capability and Investment.
    • Have good knowledge of Information Technology.
    • 5 years relevant experience

    Product Manager - Cash Management Sales

    Reporting to the Head – Cash Management, the role holder will drive and deliver exceptional sales performance by introducing new revenue to the bank and improving market penetration over assigned portfolio of clients. The role holder will also strengthen relationships with clients by positioning extraordinary value added products to their businesses based on their cash management solutions needs.

    The Role

    Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

    • Increase market penetration and share of wallet for allocated portfolio through deep understanding of individual client needs and providing suited cash solution structures at agreed pricing or fees.
    • Understand the clients’ ecosystem in terms of cash management and create opportunities with their anchors- buyers-suppliers so they can benefit from the Business chain.
    • Partner with relationship team in account planning for identified accounts and ensure account plans contain appropriate information on wallet opportunities and strategy for cash solutions.
    • Identify opportunities for new business with banks clients in portfolio and work with the relevant stakeholders to turn these opportunities into revenue for the bank as well as ensure attainment of all cash management sales target.
    • Oversee prospect qualification, customer calls and negotiations, solution presentations and solution based proposals and implementation, additionally, confer with implementation team to confirm solution’s capability to avoid missell.
    • Maintain a detailed and an up-to-date knowledge of the bank’s comprehensive integrated channels capabilities and their application to client needs and use this knowledge in structuring solutions.
    • Frequently review client’s satisfaction with solutions provided within the quarter as an after sales service check to strengthen relationship and contentment.

    Skills, Competencies and Experience

    The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or any other business related degree with at least 3 years banking experience.
    • Good knowledge of cash management products covering e-payments, collections and liquidity management.
    • Strong marketing, presentation and decision-making ability coupled with basic knowledge of transactional banking products.
    • Proactive, assertive and highly adaptable to change with strong analytical and customer centric mindset.
    • Excellent customer service coupled with strong communication, leadership and people management skills.
    • Ability to analyze data, information and situations, for effective work performance with excellent attention to details and quality outputs.

    Network Support Engineer

    Reporting to the Head – Network & Infrastructure Support, the Network Support Engineer will be charged with the responsibility of  developing, coordinating, and maintaining the corporate data network and disaster recovery to ensure uptime and business continuity. As the successful candidate, you will document ICT infrastructure and manage the entire inventory, analyze network security needs, and assist in developing standards, guidelines and statements of direction for corporate ICT system architectures.

    The Role

    Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

    • Manage performance of ICT Infrastructure and applications to ensure that the systems work as designed and perform consistently and reliably in order to meet Business SLAs. 
    • Monitor ICT Infrastructure performance including SNMP, logs, events and maintenance of general systems health in order to provide proactive remedial support.
    • Develop and maintain device access, control policies, data transmission policies, storage policies, Business continuity policies, backup policies, security policies, monitoring profiles, technologies and notification rules that match compliance best practice expectations.
    •  Plan and implement timely  product upgrades, firewall signature updates and patch releases for all ICT assets
    • Research and evaluate external technical trends & developments and evolving industry standards concerning technologies affecting networks, security, client/server and other platforms and their application to business systems. Research local and international technology trends in business to improve system performance, security and functionality.
    • Define and document the various architecture components, including hardware platform, operating system, execution, development, operation, distribution and technologies related to networking systems.
    • Install, support and maintain hardware and software infrastructure, attend to system failures and resolve/coordinate resolution of issues.
    • Establish and maintain business relationships with vendors, consultants and other outside entities providing services to the bank. Negotiate contracts and appropriately monitor performance of their services.
    • Be the custodian of all remote authentication passwords for all connections to the corporate Network Infrastructure and ensure minimal external threat to information resources.
    • Manage internal staff and external vendors to ensure that services are delivered promptly with an aim of obtaining zero interruption to business operations.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an IT related field from a recognized university with possession of Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is a must. 
    • Wide Networking and project management experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in planning, systems analysis, design, support and development of LAN/WAN infrastructure.
    • A specialist in IT/ Engineering background with competences in Networking, Engineering, Power systems and good project management/consulting skills.
    • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead or facilitate mission critical projects and to develop, participate in and lead multi-disciplinary work teams. 
    • Extensive experience in systems planning, design, development, maintenance and troubleshooting with a track record of accomplishment in large, complex WANs, LANs and client/server based systems.
