    Laboratory Technician

    Job Description

    Tasks & Responsibilities:

    • Reception of the samples from the field
    • Plasma extraction, labeling, keeping updated record and register
    • Ensuring secure storage of biological samples and preparation for safe transport
    • PIMA support and QA

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Qualified Lab Technologist registered and licensed by the KLTTB
    • Laboratory techniques, level A1 or L2
    • At least one year experience with MSF project, knowing the PIMA machine
    • Fluent English speaking
    • Working experience with Word and Excel
    • Rigorous, dynamic and able to work within a team
    • Skills in biochemical tests and rapid tests

    Desired qualities: respect of confidentiality, respect of the protocols, team spirit, rigor, capacity of learning, vigilance, reactivity and dynamism, respect of the schedules of work and the hierarchy

    Team Supervisor - Nhips Study

    Job Description

    Tasks & Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the preparation of the field work
    • Assign work, orient, assist his/her team and monitor their performances
    • Maintain fieldwork control sheets, and control and gather all data collection forms and samples
    • Ensure that medical and non-medical material required for the day is complete and ensure the organization of temporary site of biological sample collection is maintained
    • Assess the needs of immediate care and organize referral for the people in needs

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    Education and experience

    • At least five years working experience
    • Experience in HIV project management
    • Excellent organization skills & team management
    • HIV testing and counselling certificate added advantage
    • Experience in research

    Competencies

    • Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
    • A commitment to working within a team.
