    Technical Training Internships

    Job Details

    The purpose of the Student Attachment Program is to provide an opportunity for university and college students to become familiar with the operations of Kenya Airways, and to acquire work experience at a professional level through on-the-job training during vacations before resuming your studies.

    During the internship, students shall be placed in one of the departments or units of the specified Kenya Airways department, and, to the extent possible, shall be given assignments relevant to their current studies. Before the end of the program, the interns must submit a brief report about their experience/ learning in Kenya Airways and provide ideas and suggestions that can help improve the Program in future years

    Qualifications

    To be eligible for the Program, you must be:

    • A citizen of Kenya
    •  A student pursuing an undergraduate degree/College diploma in an accredited university/college, who will continue his/her graduate studies or graduate right after the period of the internship.
    • Have a minimum grade of B (plain) in KCSE or equivalent O’level certification

    Conditions of Internship

    • Kenya Airways does not provide medical insurance cover for Interns. Those selected for internship will be required to submit proof of medical insurance while at Kenya Airways.
    • Since the hiring for the Internship Program is done locally, Kenya Airways does not pay transportation costs whatsoever.
    • Because Internship Program is addressed to students who are pursuing their degree programs or diploma programs, participation in the program will not extend beyond three (3) months.
    • Candidates afforded internship in the past by Kenya Airways are not eligible to apply

    Key Account Manager

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manage and grow existing corporate accounts
    • Prospect for new corporate contracted business
    • Develop profitable relationships with portfolio of travel trade suppliers to secure long-term business e.g. TMC Partners
    • Apply sales & marketing techniques to generate customer loyalty

    Analyst.IT Security

    To assist in leading the company’s information risk and security effort, by the provision of specialist, policy-based, information risk and security services. 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Formulation, dissemination and maintenance of enterprise-wide information security policies, standards and processes.
    • Co-ordinate the planning, design and implementation of a robust information security awareness program. Provide specialist guidance to company employees on general and emerging information risks and security matters.
    • Ensure compliance to relevant regulatory standards and IT security best practices such as ISO 27001/2, PCI DSS and EU GDPR.
    • Review and maintain the company’s cyber security and aircraft network security programs.
    • Establish and maintain a robust cyber security incident response program and processes.
    • Conduct information security incidents investigations and forensics. Ensure timely reporting and resolution.
    • Conduct regular IT security risks assessments of systems and infrastructure. Ensure adequate controls are in place and mitigation actions are implemented.
    • Implementation of information security technologies. Ensure optimization and drive utilization of information security tools. Regularly monitor the company’s information security tools and ensure timely reporting of threats, offences, risks and policy violations.
    • Proactively monitor security threats and risks. Continuously research and recommend suitable solutions to further secure and safeguard company systems and assets. Share this knowledge with relevant personnel, thereby adding value to the wider organization.
    • Provide expert, timely, and relevant advice to management on information risks and security. Ensure the company leadership is informed and knowledgeable about information security-related issues and activities affecting the company

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, ICT or related field.
    • CISA or CISSP professional qualification (or their equivalent) is a requirement
    • 3 or more years’ experience directly in IT Security duties and responsibilities.
    • Ability to plan, design, implement and manage integrated security systems solutions to organizational requirements.
    • Good understanding of networks, databases, operating systems, virtualization and cloud computing environments
    • Knowledge of IT security products and techniques, network infrastructure, applications, and equipment pertinent to a large, distributed, heterogeneous computing environment.
    • Knowledge of IT security standards and best practices such as ISO 27001/2, PCI DSS, EU GDPR, CoBIT.
