Job Description
We are looking for an experienced customer focused individual with previous airline supervisory experience to join our team in Windhoek as an Airport Services Supervisor. Reporting through to the Airport Services Duty Officer you will supervise your team to deliver exceptional customer service to our customers to ensure they receive the award winning 5 star service Qatar Airways is renowned for.
You will be required to support the Airport Services Manager when needed as well as displaying excellent skills to deal with flight delays, disruptions, denied boarding and any other challenges.

Specific accountabilities include:
To be successful in this role, you will need a relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification combined with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience within the airline, travel or hospitality sectors. A minimum of 4 years' experience supervising staff is required and you will need to have completed a recognized IATA or Airline Advanced Passenger Tariff and Pricing Course and have a thorough knowledge in Pricing and Fares.
Ideally, you will have detailed knowledge of a Computer Reservation System (eg. Amadeus) and be fluent in both English and Arabic languages (written and spoken).

To be effective in this role, you will need a Trade or Vocational Qualification combined with a minimum of three years of job-related experience. Completion of the IATA Amadeus Certificate is an advantage. You will need excellent communication skills, thorough knowledge of fare construction and ticketing along with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision in a high-pressure environment.
You will need to be fluent (written and spoken) in English to perform this role.

In this role, you will be responsible for the overall control of the shift as a direct representative of the Airport Services Manager. You will monitor the activities of all flights, staff and GHA as well as third party contractors to ensure an efficient operation that runs safely and punctually, on a daily basis. You will also ensure punctuality and safety of all Qatar Airways operations.
Specific accountabilities include:
To be effective in this role, you will need a bachelors degree combined with a minimum of four years of job-related experience with three of those years in an airline or reputed GHA at the supervisory level. You will need a good understanding of Qatar Airways Conditions of Carriage, International Civil Aviation Safety and Security procedures in accordance with ICAO and IATA and local authorities. You will also require knowledge of weight and balance, ramp handling and dangerous goods regulations.
You will need to be fluent (written and spoken) in English to perform this role.

In this role, you will lead and support the provision of service excellent to customers at the airport terminal, and help create a stress-free environment for customers whilst travelling. You will support in ensuring total quality service and adherence to the safety policies and security standards of the company. You will also ensure Premium Passengers receive total quality service.
Specific accountabilities include:
To be successful in this role, you will need a High School Qualification combined with a minimum of three years experience in a customer service role with exposure to airport passenger handling. Completion of the IATA or Airline Basic Tariff and Pricing Course would be advantageous. You will need excellent interpersonal skills, a team oriented approach and strong IT and organisational skills. Previous exposure to a GDS, including the Amadeus ALTEA passenger handling system would be well regarded.
An upbeat and positive attitude are necessary to perform well in this very high pressure and demanding environment.
English language fluency (written and spoken) is a requirement for this position.

Accountabilities include:
You will have a post graduate diploma education or equivalent. To be successful in this role you will require a minimum of 2 or more years’ proven experience in an Airline or GHA as Passenger Handling and /or Ground Operations staff, with a good knowledge of the Airport working environment. You will be an energetic, enthusiastic, stress resistant person with a positive can-do attitude, a strong team player, have a flexible approach, have strong decision making skills and possess solid commercial awareness. You will have excellent attention to detail and be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment is essential. You must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Amadeus Reservations and Altea would be desirable.
Must be willing to work shifts including weekends and night shifts.
Fluency in English (Oral and written ) is essential for this role. Knowledge of Amadeus Reservations & DCS will be an added advantage.
