    Health Administrative

    An officer at this level may be deployed at a Sub-county Hospital, Rural Health Training Centre, Department or a unit within a large Hospital or to a Specific Health Programme where he/she will be exposed to exposed to various administrative duties which will include-:

    • Procurement, provision and maintenance of facilities and general upkeep of the hospital.

    The officer will work under supervision of a more senior officer.

    Requirements

    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade of C- or its equivalent qualification with at least a C in English /Kiswahili and Mathematics from a recognized institution;
    • Diploma in any of the following-: Health Management, Hospital Administration, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

    Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.
    Remuneration: As per Salaries and Remuneration Commission Guidelines.

    Orthopaedic Trauma Tech

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manipulating and reducing factures and dislocations;
    • Fixing and removing casts, bandages to and from patients;
    • Correcting Congenital Talipes Equino- Varus (C.T.E.V);
    • Participating in the management of minor orthopaedic and trauma cases in emergencies and accidents;
    • Sensitizing and creating awareness on orthopaedic trauma conditions to the communities;
    • Counselling patients/clients on issues regarding orthiopaedic trauma.

    Requirements

    • Certificate in Orthopaedic Plaster and Traction Technology or Orthopaedic Plaster Technology from recognized institution;
    • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

    Clinical Officers

    Job Responsibilities

    • Examining, diagnosing and treating patients common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient health facility;
    • Implementing community health care activities and liaison with other health workers;
    • Guiding and counselling patients, clients and staff on Health issues;
    • Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive promotive health;
    • Carrying out minor surgical procedures as per training skill;
    • Collecting and compiling clinical data;
    • Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facility.

    Requirements

    • Diploma in clinical Medicine Surgery or clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution;
    • Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officer’s Council;
    • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

    Medical Officers

    Job Responsibilities

    • Diagnosing caring and treating diseases;
    • Performing medical and surgical procedures;
    • Preparing and responding to emergencies and disasters;
    • Participating in the management of medicines, Medical instruments and equipment;
    • Providing health education;
    • Maintaining medical records, health information and data;
    • Counselling patients and their relatives on diagnoses and officer inters;
    • Preparing requisite documents for registration;

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery(M.B; Ch. B.) degree from an institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
    • Successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution;
    • Registration License from Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
    • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

    Medical Lab Tech

    This is the entry and training grade for Diploma holders. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a senior experienced officer.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Decontaminating work benches;
    • Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimen;
    • Preparing clients for collection of specimens;
    • Receiving, collecting, labelling and registering of specimens;
    • Disaggregating specimens for processing analyses;
    • Preparing reagents;
    • Examining specimens;
    • Writing and recording of results;
    • Dispatching the results for use in clinical management;
    • Preparing stains;
    • Performing blood grouping;
    • Issuing blood and products to peripheral health facilities;
    • Storing blood products according to their requirements.

    Requirements

    • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualifications from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;
    • Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;
    • Valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;
    • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
