    Direct Sales Executives

    Reporting to the Sales Direct Manager, the Direct Sales Executives will be responsible for the following: –

    • Cultivate relationships with clients, gain deep insight into their business and ultimately provide solutions to their marketing and advertising needs. Having rich clients’ resources would be preferred
    • Analyze and integrate our resources, creating new ideas on how to expand advertising and sponsorship revenue and achieve the sales targets
    • Collect the information and analyze Kenya market and our competitors, creatively develop the sales strategies and plans against sales targets
    • Ability to work long hours in a high-pressure environment selling advertising airtime, commercial productions without supervision
    • Providing a holistic client service relations plan in order to optimize advertising budgets and achieve set revenue targets to clients so as to maximize broadcasting sales volumes and revenue targets
    • Any other tasks assigned by management

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must have a core understanding of media industry and marketing management especially the media environment/ facts in Kenya, at least 3 years’ experience in advertising sales. Experience in TV advertising will be an added advantage.

    Skills:

    • Must be a graduate preferably in Marketing and Communications
    • Should have strong and comprehensive analytical and effective execution abilities.
    • Should be good at strategic thinking – to develop the business strategies that focus on short, medium and long term.
    • Should possess the ability and skills to write proposals
    • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Packages and other relevant marketing software.
    • Team work oriented.

    Broadcast IT Specialist

    Reporting to the Head of Digital & IT, the IT Broadcast Specialist will be responsible for the following:

    • TV studio, Distribution and connected back-office IT technology operation and business continuity
    • Operation emergency providing workarounds
    • Liaising with studio technical supervisor
    • Supporting editorial and creative staff providing quick IT technical solutions
    • Providing IT helpdesk services
    • Development and maintenance of technology

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidates must possess a Degree in Computer science or any other technical related field with at

    • least 3 years of TV studio IT system operation, experience in video and audio technology
    • Familiarity with video/audio and broadcast IT system design concept and equipment
    • Familiarity in Non-linear Editing, storage and archive systems
    • A good understanding of video and audio file and compression formats
    • Extensive knowledge in IP network design and administration
    • Windows/Linux server-client system administration skills and experience
    • Thrive in a high-pressure environment, attentive to detail with the ability to multi task.

    Eng Reporter

    Reporting to the Managing Editor, the ENG REPORTER will be responsible for the following:

    Responsibility:

    • Generating ideas for stories and features and following leads from news agencies, the police, the public, press conferences and other sources
    • Pitching ideas to editors
    • Researching, verifying and collating evidence and information to support a story using relevant information sources such as the internet, archives, databases, etc.
    • Selecting appropriate locations, pictures and sound and exercising editorial judgment on the best angle from which to approach a story
    • Identifying necessary resources and deploying and managing technical crews for location shoots, including camera crew
    • Providing directorial input, advising crews on what to film or record
    • Producing complete packages for broadcast
    • Preparing and presenting material for both pre-recorded and live piece
    • Identifying potential interviewees, briefing them, preparing interview questions and conducting both live and recorded interviews
    • Collaborating with the editor to put together the completed program or item
    • Developing and maintaining local contacts and assuming a public relations role

    Requirements

    • 3 years of TV editor, producer or reporter position; experience in filming, editing and producing news
    • Graduate in Journalism or Communications
    • A thorough knowledge of news and current affairs in the Kenya, Africa and internationally
    • Strong writing skills, and ability to convey information in a clear, concise and conversational manner
    • Excellent live reporting skills and strong on-camera presentation skills
    • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
    • Ability to interact professionally and build relationships and sources
    • Ability to shoot and edit digital video
    • Strong research skills, including the ability to navigate online search engines
    • Social Media & Multimedia experience

    Assignment Editor

    Reporting to the Managing Editor, the Assignment Editor will be responsible for the following: –

    • Oversees news gathering process (Editorial Desk & ENG Reporters) and logistics for all of our news platforms.
    • Takes strong lead in breaking news coverage and pre-packaged stories/ features.
    • Aggressively coordinate how enterprise stories are sought including actualizing documentaries or mini-documentaries.
    • Ensures that the Editorial Desk monitors social media and builds content for our web site and other socialmedia handles.
    • Reacts aggressively and decisively to breaking news with or without management present bearing in mind our target audience.
    • Builds strong sources in the community.
    • Co-ordinate the Editorial Desk, anchors and reporters.
    • Working closely with the Editorial Desk and ENG reporters on angles to stories as they develop and packaged features.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must have a proven experience as an Assignment Editor or relevant role with at least 5 years’ experience in a newsroom and at least 2 as an assignment editor.

    Skills

    • Graduate in Journalism / Mass Communication or related field
    • Exceptional editing ability and analytics.
    • Forthright, passionate, self-driven, strategic thinker and meticulous.
    • Interrogates media law and ethics.
    • Organizational and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
