    Digital Media Officer

    Job Description

    Position scope 

    Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production of content for the entire digital media strategy, including the coordination and production of all content (text, photos, graphics and videos) for social media platforms, websites and online publications.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Implementing the social media strategy for KTDA;
    • Maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout the company’s websites;
    • Tracking, reporting and giving feedback on site metrics, especially on social media;
    • Developing and managing content for the company’s digital media platforms, including the websites;
    • Designing and managing all the company’s digital platforms, including online publications (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr, etc);
    • Developing the digital platforms as integral parts of the Group’s internal and external communication as well as forums for employee and customer feedback;
    • Working with Corporate Affairs team to integrate the Group’s activities with the digital media platforms, especially with respect to communication, customer relations, corporate events, marketing and enhancing the corporate image;
    • Participate in formulation of strategies for the company corporate communication with its publics, both internally and externally;
    • Designing corporate presentations to ensure brand consistency and quality;
    • Providing editorial support to the communications team;
    • Providing content for internal and external publications;
    • Editing corporate photos and videos;
    • Managing the KTDA internet and intranet;
    • Managing and publicizing corporate events;
    • Writing speeches and reports;
    • Responding to media queries;
    • Providing timely information to the media; 

    Qualifications/Skills/Experience

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: -

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism information Science or a related field;
    • Six (6) years of experience managing content and production for high-traffic websites;
    • Sound understanding of writing for the web and engaging online audiences;
    • Solid experience in managing dynamic websites and knowledge of digital trends;
    • Excellent editorial, communication and organizational skills;
    • Wide knowledge of a range of web applications and social media platforms;
    • Abilities with content management systems, image-editing software, Windows or Macintosh;
    • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
    • Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;

    Clerk of Works

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Interpreting contract documents on site;
    • Confirming and approving setting out of works on a daily basis;
    • Confirming work measurements on site and keep records;
    • Recording daily activities including plant on site;
    • Ensuring all project documentation and requirements are in place before and during construction. 

    Qualifications/Skills/Experience

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: -

    • Higher Diploma in building construction/civil engineering/quantity survey;
    • Minimum of Four (4) years of relevant experience;

    Tax officer

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Preparing Income and Deferred Tax computations (final & installments), making payments and filing of the tax returns for the KTDA group and factory companies;
    • Preparing annual income tax computations and reconciliations for the KTDA group and factory companies;
    • Carrying out VAT Administration – correct and timely lodging of the refund applications and follow-ups from the department (VAT);
    • Provision of relevant documents to KRA to ensure VAT refunds are paid on a timely basis.
    • Preparing monthly tax reconciliations for factories and the KTDA Group.
    • Timely application of tax compliance certificates.
    • Carrying out tax checks on factories and subsidiary companies on their adherence and compliance with tax regulations;
    • Administration of KEBS Levy.
    • Handling tax related queries from KRA;

    Qualifications/Skills/Experience

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: -

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field from a recognized university;
    • Qualified accountant with CPA (K)/ACCA or an equivalent qualification;
    • Six (6) years’ experience working in a similar position, 4 of which should be post qualification experience in finance with specialization in one or two areas of financial accounting e.g. fixed assets, stock accounting, sub-ledger accounting, profit and loss accounting;
    • Prior experience in dealing with Revenue Authority issues especially in applicable laws;
    • Knowledge of the tax legislation with awareness of the constantly emerging issues;
    • Fluency in English, able to effectively communicate orally and in writing;
    • Strong analytical skills, a keen attention to details and a good learner;
    • Self-driven, results oriented, proactive and an ability to work without supervision.
