    Lounge Supervisor

    To deliver high quality food & beverages to customers, assisting to ensure that the overall business achieves its ultimate potential in that of sales and profitability through creating an environment for customers which is stylish, contemporary, offering high quality “modern” food & beverages with style.

    Responsibilities

    • To be fully conversant with monthly/ daily sales performance
    • In your capacity as a supervisor you will be required to take a hands on role with the service delivery of services within the Restaurant and Bar concept
    • Supervise and Ensure maximum productivity of labour resources
    • Ensure the department is prepared and organised to meet all business requirements, with particular attention to food & beverage stock controls
    • Ensure all company and cash handling procedures are adhered to at all times and any discrepancies identified are fully investigated with appropriate action taken.
    • To aid in the development of a positive, motivated, dynamic team through your effective man management and leadership style
    • Assist in the delivery of the marketing & sales strategies with measurable activity on an on going basis

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Clear understanding of Kenyan health and safety legislation.

    • Articulate and able to communicate well in both written and oral English and Kiswahili languages.
    • High level of integrity.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Independent thinker.
    • MUST be above 30 years of age.
    • Ability to establish and maintain excellent mutually beneficial working relationships with staff and other departments to ensure smooth running of the section.
    • Diploma in food and beverage services preferably from Utalii College

    Lounge Accountant

    Our client, in the hospitality industry is looking for an accountant. He/She will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely monthly restaurant P&L statements as well as food and beverage purchase control.

    She/he will manage several tasks concurrently and should be proficient in being able to quickly troubleshoot, work independently and provide practical solutions to problems.

    Responsibilities

    • Managing budgets and financial plans.
    • Book keeping, verification and booking of entries;
    • Reviewing of Sales books;
    • Maintaining and reviewing the Cash book, Store book and Bar book;
    • Preparation of monthly sales reports;
    • Running various operational tasks in the company as advised.

    Qualifications

    F & B Manager

    Responsibilities

    • To assist the directors and ensure all beverage related stock items, products are purchased in accordance with the business levels and that only agreed suppliers are utilised
    • Responsible for staff orientation  and overall supervision at the branch level
    • Ensure high standards are maintained in the premises with regard to furniture, fixtures & fittings, initiate and oversee maintenance and repairs, as required.
    • Ensure wide variety of products is maintained, adding new products in collaboration with director, as deemed appropriate.
    • Ensures full compliance with all statutory authorities including County Government, NACADA, KRA, Music Society of Kenya and any other licence for the premises.
    • Make recommendations to Company Director for price reviews of bar and food menus, reprinting of menus and any revisions deemed necessary.
    • In charge of developing & implementing marketing, advertising, public and community relations campaigns to attract patrons and evaluating results of campaigns.

    • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in a relevant discipline.

    Waiters and Waitresses

    Our client in the hospitality industry is looking to fill in the above positions, to be based in Nairobi.

    Job Purpose

    You are responsible for ensuring that customers have a satisfying dining experience. You are expected to provide fast, efficient and courteous service. You also discuss coordination between the kitchen and the dining area and review any customer service issues from the previous day or shift.

    Responsibilities

    • Greet and escort customers to their tables
    • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
    • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
    • Inform customers about the day’s specials
    • Offer menu recommendations upon request
    • Up-sell additional products when appropriate
    • Take accurate food and drinks orders, order slips or by memorization
    • Communicate order details to the kitchen staff
    • Serve food and drink orders
    • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
    • Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
    • Deliver checks and collect bill payments
    • Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleansing

    Lounge Cashier

    Our client in the hospitality industry is looking to fill in the above position, to be based in Nairobi.

    Purpose of the Job

    The main responsibility of the cashier is to operate the cash register to handle payments for the services rendered.

    Responsibilities

    • Operate cash machines and POS to customers’ bills
    • Check bills to see if the correct amount has been displayed to be presented to customers
    • Answer customers’ questions regarding billed items
    • Record totalled amounts, including expenses in restaurant’s database
    • Inform customers about available modes of payments
    • Take cash payments in exchange of services rendered
    • Process credit and debit card payments and ensure that customers sign receipts
    • Count cash in the cash register at the end of each shift and ensure that it tallies
    • Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales
    • Carry out banking regularly as per set banking policy

    Qualifications

    • Should have experience of at least 1 year in a related position and in a busy restaurant setting
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Should possess good mathematical skills and computer literate
    • Hold a Diploma in Front Office Management or any other related field.
    • Must be willing to work during the night shifts, weekends and holidays

    Cook

    Our client in the hospitality industry is looking to fill in the above position, to be based in Nairobi.  They must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.

    Responsibilities

    • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
    • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
    • Cook food in various utensils or grillers
    • Check food while cooking to stir or turn
    • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
    • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
    • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
    • Check quality of ingredients
    • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience as cook
    • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware
    • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
    • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
    • Ability to work in a team
    • Very good communication skills
    • Excellent physical condition and stamina
    • High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
