    Junior .Net Developer

    A career in Information Technology, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to support our core business functions by deploying applications that enable our people to work more efficiently and deliver the highest levels of service to our clients. You’ll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure within PwC, developing and enhancing both client and internal facing applications within PwC, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for the Firm to drive strategic business growth.

    Our Information Technology Development team helps develop and supports internal information technology systems and applications for use by all staff levels. You’ll help our team develop programmes and applications that cater to PwC’s strategic technology needs using your knowledge of technical domains of application.Job Purpose

    We are looking for a passionate developer with a great desire to learn and deliver software solutions. You will be afforded a unique opportunity to work with cutting edge technology in a dynamic global team of qualified professionals to ensure you have a smooth learning curve. While working with senior Software Engineers, you are expected to be open to learning new technologies needed to aid your growth and deliver efficient solutions for the firm.

    Principal Accountability

    • Work with senior developers to deliver business solutions.
    • Assist with database designs
    • Provide regular updates to Team Lead or Senior on assigned projects.
    • Assist with troubleshooting bugs and providing fixes.
    • Update project tasks regularly using Azure DevOps.
    • Assist with creating test plans on Azure DevOps
    • Collaborate with team and assist with project documentation
    • Collaborate between front end and back-end teams to ensure integrated end to end design and delivery.
    • End to End development cycle including system analysis, design, testing and deployment
    • Assist Lead developers and other team members to better develop and deliver solutions
    • Clearly and regularly communicates with management and technical support colleagues
    • Work in an AGILE environment and participate in daily SCRUM feedback sessions.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Software Development, Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar field.

    Experience

    The candidate should be certified/working towards Software Development related MS Certifications OR the candidate must have completed a Software Development related course(s) to demonstrate interest in the Enterprise space

    Tax Customs - Senior Associate

    About the job:-

    As a Senior Associate, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve complex business issues. This role requires you to develop specialized tax expertise in Indirect Taxes - Customs and act as a key resource on complex tax technical matters.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the development of new methodologies or approaches to address emerging Tax issues for our clients.
    • Assist clients by identifying issues they may not recognize and recommend solutions tailored to their strategic and commercial objectives whilst considering the regulatory environment.
    • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients.
    • Manage existing client portfolios and maintain sound client relationships.
    • Leverages on internal and external networks to enhance firm’s connectivity, performance and profitability opportunities.
    • Ensure that financial targets of self and team are achieved.
    • Provide written technical opinions or reports for clients.
    • Train, coach, and supervise team members.
    • Conduct Customs training for clients as and when required.
    • Keep up to date with changes in Customs legislation in the East Africa region.
    • Keep up to date with local and international business and economic issues.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
    • Applicants with Customs or tax qualification will have an added advantage
    • Over five years of relevant experience in the field of Customs and International Trade preferably in a tax authority or tax advisory firm
    • In-depth knowledge of the customs legislative framework in the East African Community
    • In-depth knowledge of the local customs regulations, policies and practices in the East Africa region
    • Working knowledge of Customs and international trade regulations within the context of World Customs Organization (WCO) and World Trade Organization (WTO)
    • Excellent analytical skills and commercial expertise are required for you to succeed in this role
    • You must also demonstrate the ability to communicate with impact, have excellent business development and negotiation skills
    • You must have good leadership skills, be an effective team player, excellent management skills and good project management skills.
