    Director Coaching

    Job Description:

    This position will be responsible for providing the vision, leadership and strategic direction the organization needs to support all learning in the Business School by translating knowledge to action while serving all stakeholders including students, staff, alumni and external clients. The position will also drive and position Coaching as the main differentiator for the Business School.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop a vision and strategic plan to guide the Coaching and Executive Coaching agenda of the school and act as the professional advisor to the Management Committee on all aspects of the coaching activities. This will also involve conducting official correspondence relating to coaching on behalf of SBS as well as representing SBS at activities that enhance the organization’s profile and visibility,
    • Drive business visibility and marketing strategy for the department including revenue generating sources, sales targets and client engagement platforms for new business. This also involves positioning SBS as a coaching provider of choice for alumni and external clients,
    • Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the coaching department through the development of an operational and Management plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of coaching; drafting policies, procedures and protocols to manage the coaching programs and establishing definable and comparable metrics of a successful coaching program.
    • Liaise with international faculty to design and deliver relevant coaching programs while ensuring that the programs and services offered by the organization contribute to the organization’s mission and reflect the priorities of Strathmore Business School.
    • Oversee the implementation of the human resources policies, procedures and practices including the development of job description for coaches & administrators, recruit, interview and select coaches that have the right technical and personal abilities to help further the organization’s mission and ensure that they receive an orientation to the SBS coaching concept, and that appropriate training is provided.
    • Implement a performance management system for the coaches, which include monitoring their performance on an on-going basis and conducting an annual performance review.
    • Ensure smooth running of operations in the department through the preparation and monitoring of the departmental budget and monitor the monthly cash flow.
    • Drive the research and development of coaching including the compiling of anecdotal evidence in both, write cases related to organizational and personal agenda success stories and present research papers in relevant promotional platforms.

    Job Requirements: 

    The post holder will be required to have and to demonstrate evidence of the following qualifications, attributes and skills:

    • A master’s degree in a relevant field.
    • Recognized coach and mentor certifications by International regulatory bodies of coaching  and mentoring
    • At least 8 years’ experience in a senior management position
    • Strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders
    • Business acumen
    • Good networking skills
    • An eye for opportunities and courage to follow through
    • Ability to delegate and empower their team as they undertake their duties while he/she focusses on strategic and leadership functions
    • Visionary (ability to create a compelling vision and communicate it enthusiastically and consistently)

    Management Accountant

    Reporting: Finance Manager

    Relationships And Contact: Staff, External Stakeholders

    Job Purpose:

    The position holder will be responsible for the provision and the maintenance of timely, accurate, complete and reliable financial reports to facilitate decision making in Strathmore Business School.

    Main Duties And Responsibilities:

    • Financial and Management Reporting: Facilitate decision making by preparing accurate and complete financial reports and any other ad hoc financial report as per the agreed internal standards and timelines, and the generally accepted local and international financial reporting guidelines;
    • Payment Processing: Facilitate timely processing of payments by ensuring that payments for staff and suppliers are paid and the accounting entries are accurately captured in Kuali Financial system;
    • Budget Processing, Preparation, Planning and Reviewing: Assist the Finance Manager in preparation of the school’s annual budget, assist the Programs Directors in preparation of budgets for customized programs and review all short programs budgets;
    • Bank Reconciliations: Review all bank reconciliation statements monthly and resolve any reconciling differences;
    • Petty Cash Management: Approve petty cash replenishments and verify cash counts monthly;
    • Approvals: Approve all accounting Journal entries;
    • Grant Reporting: Prepare and submit Grant financial reports for the grant on a quarterly basis’
    • Auditing: Prepare for and coordinate external and internal audits by providing appropriate documentation as requested by auditors as well as clearance of matters identified during the audit.
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by management relating to management reports

     Job Requirements 

    The post holder will be required to have and to demonstrate evidence of the following qualifications, attributes and skills:

    • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or business-related field;
    • Professional qualification in Finance or Accounting such as CFA, CPA or ACCA;
    • At least 5 years’ accounting experience in an educational institution.

    Business Development Manager-Public Policy Programmes

    Reporting: Associate Director Public Sector Programmes and Digitization

    Job Purpose:

    To market and sell public policy programmes while building and cultivating sustainable key relationships with potential public sector and private sector partners, nationally and internationally.

    Main Duties And Responsibilities:

    1. Sales:
    • Targeting new clients for business development and proposing new initiatives for existing clients, to increase sales opportunities and achieve personal and team financial targets.
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients, developing industry linkages to sustain SBS as their knowledge partner in transforming Africa leaders.
    • Continually devise ways to increase customer experience to deepen client/partner relationships and maintain lasting client and partner relationships.
    • Data mining and developing a prospect pipeline for each program allocated.
    1. Marketing:
    • Analyzing and managing stakeholders to maintain a close engagement and relationship with the market.
    • Undertaking continuous business intelligence to understand client needs at organization, industry and country level to ensure proposal of relevant and timely executive education and consultancy solutions.
    • Tracking client satisfaction with frequent client review meetings and effective evaluation of programmes and consultancy engagements.
    1. Operational Excellence:
    • Supporting faculty members to ensure delivery of client promise and delivery of expected outcomes to the clients.
    • Preparing internal management reports and client reports as required, to support data-driven decision making for enhanced client relations and effective process improvement. 
    1. Key Account Management:
    • Develop long term Setting planning and forecasting of each key account.
    • Setting specific goals and objectives for each key account
    • Managing buying cycles and their impact on the sales strategy
    • Developing and maintaining key accounts in turbulent market conditions

    Job Requirements

    The post holder will be required to have and to demonstrate evidence of the following qualifications, attributes and skills:

    • Bachelors and/or Masters’ degree in a business related area qualifications in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage
    • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in business development with proven experience in sales, managing client relations, key account management.
    • Ability to guide senior business leaders in designing training plans which will achieve desirable business results.
    • Good research, planning and reporting skills.
    • Excellent business communication and etiquette skills with a flair for pitching.

    Director Graduate Programmes

    Reporting: Associate Dean, Academic and Students Affairs

    Job Purpose:

    This position will be responsible for providing the strategic and academic leadership in learning, teaching, and research in the Strathmore Business School.

    Main Duties And Responsibilities:

    • Strategy and Policy: Recommend, develop, and implement approved academic policies in the University with regards to Postgraduate studies and continuously contribute to the University’s corporate goals and strategic aims in postgraduate education provision;
    • Operations Management: Prepare, implement, and monitor the departmental strategic plan, annual work plan, and budget in order to contribute to the management and operations of Strathmore Business School.
    • Quality Assurance: Conduct audits of the Graduate Programs and review the curriculum documents for the Masters and PHD Programs before they are tabled to the Board of Graduate Studies to ensure that all programs in the University meet internal quality and regulatory standards;
    • Student Experience: Build and develop student engagement and experience to improve on the quality of the graduate students’ thesis as the head of the University’s Thesis office;
    • Research Base: Strengthen the research base by increasing the number of postgraduate research students and monitor the progression and completion rates of graduate students
    • Portfolio Management: Maintain a portfolio of the University’s Post -Graduate supervisors and enhance the University’s Doctoral research through promotion of the Post-Doctoral Research Program; champion and lead initiatives that improve the University’s research portfolio;
    • Collaboration: Partner with other Deans and heads of department to establish and maintain national and international recognition of the school as a centre of excellence for graduate education; Manage collaborative graduate studies activities of the Faculty in accordance with the governance, policy and regulatory frameworks of the University;
    • As part of the top management, the position holder should provide leadership, guidance and development of subordinates while being proactively involved in supporting the development and achievement of the foundational goals and mission of the University.

     Job Requirements 

    The post holder will be required to have and to demonstrate evidence of the following qualifications, attributes and skills:

    • Doctorate Degree in any related field from a recognised institution
    • At least 10 years’ experience in teaching, research, supervision, grants application, and administration
    • Experience holding the position of Senior Lecturer
    • Membership to a professional body
    • Ability to effectively present information to University Council, top management and/or public groups
    • Strong Research and Analytical Skills
    • Experience in attracting Research Grants
