Responsibilities of the Assistant Finance Manager

• Prepare the monthly financial performance and the accompanying analysis
• Prepare the quarterly financial reports for consolidation by the Group ensuring they comply with the relevant regulations and in accordance to the Group timelines
• Prepare strategic financial plans, including the budgets and forecasts by collaborating with the CEO. Monitor budgets against targets, and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status
• Coordinate audits by internal & external auditors, Capital Markets Authority inspectors, and KRA officials and follow up all issues raised in audits and inspections reports for a resolution
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/IAS, Companies Act, Taxation Act and CMA guidelines
• Ensure all regulatory returns and any other information requested by the regulator is correctly compiled and submitted on time
• Ensure integrity of the general ledger through daily review and analysis and ensure that all Bank accounts and the relevant suspense are reconciled periodically
• To validate and approve all payments related to the business in line with the laid down authorization limits and timings
• Ensuring that there are adequate internal control procedures to minimize loss of income or misuse of company assets, and that all the set procedures are adhered to
• As part of the management team, communicate and manage the shareholder expectations and customer experience through monthly management reporting.
• Ensure investment of company assets are within company investment policy statement
• Manage the completion of all regular daily, weekly, monthly reporting with all including; month end actuals and forecasts, for multiple key stakeholders ensuring there is integrity of the data and consistency prior to delivery to stakeholders
• Manage & Monitor all receivables and cash flow of the organization
• Any other Duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications of the Assistant Finance Manager

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Commerce or other Relevant field
• At Least Six (6) years of Relevant Work Experience a Minimum of Two (2) years in a similar role
• CPA (K) , ACCA, CIMA or ACA Certification
• Holders of a Master’s Degree in Finance or a related field will have an added advantage
• They should hold membership in recognized professional bodies.

Competencies of the Assistant Finance manager

• Understanding of IFRS/IAS and accounting principles
• Excellent financial planning, budgeting and forecasting skills
• Sound Knowledge of industry regulatory framework i.e. CMA, KRA & RBA
