We seek to recruit a Nutrition Associate for a period of six months. The Nutrition Associate will assist with development of budgets, liaising with Ministry staff and MCSP supervisor regarding implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs, continue, improve and expand Nutrition services in all sites for high-quality standards and efficient services, ensure successful transfer of mentoring and service delivery of Nutrition to the MOH, on collection of nutrition indicators, and skills on MIYCN, ensure appropriate linkage between Nutrition and MNCH services with other health and non-health activities within the project. The Nutrition Associate will be based in Kisumu.
- Input to Nutrition service delivery at both facility and community.
- Continue, improve and expand Nutrition services in all sites for high-quality standards and efficient services.
- Ensure successful transfer of mentoring and service delivery of Nutrition to the MOH, on collection of nutrition indicators, and skills on MIYCN.
- Ensure appropriate linkage between Nutrition and MNCH services with other health and non-health activities within the project.
- Assist with development of budgets, liaising with Ministry staff and MCSP supervisor regarding implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs.
- Implement nutrition services working with other members of the MNCH team to ensure maximum integration of all activities. These are:Continuous Medical Education on MIYCNIMAM scale up to selected facilities,trainings on Micronutrient and CHANIS, BFCI trainings of CHVs, follow up at facility and community for implementation of BFCI, BFCI self-assessment, vitamin A supplementation in ECD/Community, focused supportive supervision, data quality self-assessment integrated with supportive supervision

- Has sensitivity and understanding of the beneficiary population.
- Computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS word, Excel and Power Point.
- High integrity, good stewardship and ability to cultivate constructive relationships.
- Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform.
- High level English oral and written communication skills, including representation and liaison skills; spoken fluency of local languages a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the capacity to think and plan strategically, including the ability to produce high quality policy materials and advice for program implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Required Experience
Advanced degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Public Health & Nutrition, Health Sciences, International Health & Nutrition, Family Health & Nutrition, Nutritional Epidemiology, Health & Nutrition Education, Health & Nutrition Promotion and Disease Prevention, Public Health, Health Emergency Preparedness, or other relevant discipline(s), sound knowledge of nutrition and human development, gender-responsive programming, integrated approaches to achieve nutrition outcomes, public systems and service improvement and the experience in working with a broad range of development partners involved in nutrition work, at least 8 years working experience in successful leadership and implementation of a nutrition program or a program with nutrition components either as a nutrition Advisor or nutrition program manager, preferably in Kenya, experience working with Nutrition partners, experience collaborating with local NGOs preferred, technical competency in nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive programming.
You must currently have legal authorization to work in Kenya.
