    Chief Pilot

    Duties & Responsibilities for the Chief Pilot Job

    • Planning, coordinating and managing flight operations and movement in line with the applicable policy & procedures
    • Supervising and evaluating the performance of pilots and other designated flight personnel
    • Coordinating training activities for pilots in order to maintain ratings
    • Developing policies and procedures for flight operations
    • Ensuring all aircraft operations are licensed and documented
    • Flying aircrafts as and when need arises
    • Preparing flight plans and filing them with the control tower
    • Ensuring timely preparation of reports
    • Maintaining accurate and upto date records
    • Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time.

    Job Requirements for the Chief Pilot Job

    • Must be a Kenyan citizen.
    • Must have graduated from an accredited Flight Training School
    • Be in possession of Kenya Commercial Pilot’s Licence with Instrument Rating
    • Must be in possession of current certification to fly KWS aircrafts which may include Rotorcraft Helicopters, Cessna Caravan 208, Cessna 182, Aviat Husky and Super Cub Single Engine Airplanes.
    • Minimum 2,500 hours logged pilot-in-command total flight time which must include minimum flight experience of 100 hours flight time within the preceding twelve (12) months with current Instrument Rating and minimum of one (1) year experience in supervision of flight operations.

    • Instructor’s Rating.
    • Search & Rescue Training.
    • Experience in rotorcraft helicopter or ability to operate tail wheel aircraft.
    • Knowledge in wildlife management, game capture, anti-poaching and aerial survey.
    • Knowledge of KCAA administration orders, regulations and circulars.
    • Knowledge of aviation industry safety standards and guidelines.
    • Possession of valid certificate of Good Conduct obtained from the CID.
