    Knowledge Management and Policy Officer

     

    Reporting Arrangements: 
    The Officer will be supervised by the ReDSS Coordinator. 
     
    Location:    Nairobi with possibility of travel within the region for specific duties 
     
    Duration:    6 months contract  
     
    General    Commitments: DRC has a Humanitarian Accountability Framework, outlining its global accountability committments. All staff are required to contribute to the achievement of this framework  
     
    Qualifications & Experience 
    • University degree (minimum) and preferably a Master’s degree in relevant field 
    • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in similar positions involving information management, research and communications; requiring analysis and presentation of complex information in a simple and accessible manner; 
    • Prior experience in designing and setting up internal information management systems 
    • Strong analytical and writing skills with proven experience in producing high quality external policy and communication materials and ability to handle complex issues 
    • Good IT command, close familiarity with the maintenance and management of template-style websites and experience of applying ICT (information communications technology) to knowledge management 
    • Strong knowledge of the region and the socio-economic and political dynamics affecting it;  more specifically on displacement trends with a demonstrated ability to manage politically sensitive contexts 
    • Excellent coordination, information management, inter-personal and facilitation and communication skills to build trusted relationships with a wide array of humanitarian and development partners, donors, Government agencies, etc. 
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization. 
    • Flexibility, proactive engagement, ability to work under pressure and to demonstrate high tolerance for change, complexity and unpredictability 
    • Well organized and ability to plan work accordingly
