    PR & Communication Officer

    Reporting to the Director Marketing and Communication, the PR & Communication Officer will play a supporting role in the day to day operations and execution of the Communication department's strategy to enable the department deliver on set objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:-

    a) Assist the Director Marketing and Communication to develop and implement communication and Public engagement strategies in line with BKB's mandate,

    b) Liaise with agencies to ensure communication projects are executed in a timely and efficient manner,

    c) Develop proposals to the Director Communication that will communicate Brand Kenya Board's initiatives and objectives,

    d) Liaise with media organizations for collaboration in communicating Brand Kenya Board's initiatives,

    e) Conduct daily media monitoring and reporting,

    f) Undertake content development, update and monitoring of social media – twitter, facebook, etc.

    g) Develop articles to be published in the media

    h) Prepare news releases and news features for internal and external publications

    i) Prepare write ups for annual reports and country information booklets/brochures

    j) Develop content and update the Board's website,

    k) Development of presentations and drafting speeches,

    l) Assist in preparation of pre production material for development of video documentaries and infomercials,

    m) Assist in preparation and management of BKB's participation in Trade fairs and exhibitions,

    n) Assist in development of communication and media strategies in the Board

    o) Perform any other duties as may be assigned

    Job specifications:-

    a) Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication or Public Relations or equivalent,

    b) At least three (3) years experience in a busy Organization's Corporate/Communication department,

    c) Member of Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).

    d) Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism or related field is an added advantage.

    Key competencies:

    The position requires self driven, results oriented player with the following competencies

    a) Ability to express self, clearly articulate issues and multi-task,

    b) Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills,

    c) Excellent writing and editing skills – (English and Kiswahili)

    d) Working knowledge of photography, video and radio production is an added advantage.

    e) Self driven, result oriented and a team player

    f) Knowledge of creative design and print production processes

    g) A working knowledge of Power point, MS word excel

    h) Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information and to ensure absolute discretion and sensitivity to confidential matters
