Assistant Accountant at Adept Systems

Responsibilities

• Posting of data into the accounting system i.e. receipts, payments, journals etc
• Processing of payments and grants/donations in liaison with the supervisor.
• Ensure that the creditors’ accounts are up to date and the payments policies and procedures are adhered to
• Preparing of invoices, debit notes, credit notes etc and maintenance of accounts receivable, their collections and ageing analysis.
• Raising of Local Purchase Orders
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements for all bank accounts
• Within the delegated authority, the assistant accountant will interpret and advice on the application of financial rules and regulations and ensure compliance with approved financial policies and procedures
• Provide accurate and timely information needed to prepare financial reports
• Participate in the year-end closure of accounts
• Maintain the asset register

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferably in Commerce: Accounting and Finance Option.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPAK).
• Two (2) to Three (3) years’ experience within Finance in the NGO, Corporate or Service industries.
• Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office and Pastel Accounting software.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to work with a high degree of accuracy.
• Must possess excellent organizational & planning skills.
• Proven analytical skills-ability to interpret or generate all types of financial data and financial reports and statements.
• Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills.
