    Records Management Officer

    Job Ref HR –RMO -5-017

    Job Purpose


    The job holder is responsible for providing library and research services, maintenance of the library and its collections and overall records/registry management.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    i. Manage the planning, administrative and budgetary functions of the library and registry services;
    ii. Provide effective access to library collections and resources and records;
    iii. Maintain the organisation of library materials and files in the registry;
    iv. Provide library services in response to the information needs of library users;
    v. Prepare and implement library and registry work plans;
    vi. Secure classified information;
    vii. Review and Implement records management policies and
    viii. Receive and dispatch mails within specified deadlines.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES)

    i. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science (Library Management) or its equivalent;
    ii. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with at least 2 years at senior management/leadership position;
    iii. Member of Kenya Association of Library and Information Professionals in good standing;
    iv. Proficiency in library and record management policies, procedures, methods, ethics and professional standards;
    v. Knowledge of library and record keeping systems for cataloguing, acquisitions and searching on-line bibliographic utilities and
    vi. Knowledge of computerised information database systems and ability to utilise information resources of the internet and other electronic databases.
