    Business Development Officer

    Reporting to the Head-Bancassurance, the Business Development Officer will be responsible for leading the Bancassurance Officers to effectively deliver consistent performance and meet both premium & revenue goals.

    He/She will lead the team to consistently deliver exceptional customer experience, maximizing new business opportunities and deepening existing relationships.

    Business Development Officer Job Responsibilities

    • Assess and articulate bancassurance strategy across the bank and maximize the potential opportunities across all segments.
    • Carry out market research, development of new insurance solutions and enhancement of existing ones to suite the various market segments.
    • Drive new business & renewals to achieve set revenue targets through acquisition of new business and deepening of relationships with existing customers across all segments.
    • Monitoring and driving team performance targets in line with set targets.
    • Optimize Insurance P&L and balance sheet performance as well as other Key Performance Indicators.
    • Collaborate with RMs and Branch Managers to drive bancassurance business.
    • Coach own team to enable delivery of Bancassurance results and seek to embed a strong performance culture through inspiring, motivating and rigorous performance management discipline.
    • Exercise sound commercial judgment & resolve issues appropriately while ensuring compliance with external and internal regulations and policies covering Operational, Credit, Reputational and People Risk.

    Qualifications for the Business Development Officer Job

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field and preferably with an Insurance specialization.
    • ACII Diploma or Equivalent professional qualifications in Insurance will be an added advantage.
    • At least 4 years relevant management experience in managing insurance sales teams.
    • Experience in product development, strategy formulation & execution and sales activation.
    • Very good understanding of Insurance Sales – both General and Life insurance products.
    • Demonstrated successful track record on delivery of results with the ability to work well in a team, as well as manage multiple priorities in quick time frames.
    • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to deal professionally, confidently and effectively with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally and to establish new client relationships and generate new business.
