Roles and Responsibilities for the Legal Officer Job

• Analyzing and critiquing laws and legislative proposals and promoting the adoption of appropriate laws.
• Preparing legal briefs, and providing advice.
• Liaising with contracted legal practitioners on representation of the Board in legal matters.
• Undertaking comparative law studies in employment law and practice.
• Developing and maintaining a resource pool of laws, regulations and other relevant materials.
• Preparing and submitting reports on legal issues.

Job Requirements for the Legal Officer Job

• Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
• Have at least two (2) years’ post admission experience.
• Have a good understanding of Labour Laws and dispute resolution mechanisms in employment relations.
• Proficiency in computer applications;
• Has demonstrated administrative and professional competence in work performance at that level.
