The need for an intern Monitoring and Evaluation is to assist in development of a monitoring tools and produce periodical reports, among other duties.
Monitoring & Evaluation Internship Responsibilities
- Assist in data collection for providing timely and relevant information to the Council of Governors Sectoral
- Committees in order for them to incorporate in their plans and strategies;
- Assist in developing tools for recording and reporting progress (or lack of) against strategic goals and specific program objectives of the Council of Governors;
- Assist in review and analysis of monitoring reports in terms of progress and action needed by the various sectoral Committees
- Assist the Council of Governors Sectoral committees in building capacity on M&E Framework development and implementation;
- Assist in data collection, analysis of data and report writing on topical issues at the Council of Governors
- Provide support and advisories to Council of Governors on M&E related activities
- Linkage with the County Planning Units and Directors in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation to advise on the progress on implementation of the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP), Sectoral Plans, the Annual
- Development Plan and related programmes as well as emerging issues such as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Furthermore, the intern is encouraged to:
- Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of devolution by reading relevant COG and external publications and take active part in Council of Governors activities (for instance in events that mark and celebrate successes in devolution);
- Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for COG publication/Websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
Qualifications for the Monitoring & Evaluation Internship
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management and Planning, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or any other relevant field.
- Conversant with the Project Cycle and place of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning in the same;
- Familiar with statistical software such as advanced MS Excel, STATA and SPSS
- Has an understanding of the Kenya Constitution 2010 especially on devolution matters;
- Strong interpersonal relations and communication skills.
- Strong report writing skills.
Duration
The contract duration is three months with a possibility of extension, subject to performance and availability of funds.
